“Sooo relaxing....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2012

This was our first time at the Lodge. As soon as we got to the hotel, the service was excellent. They couldn't do enough for us. The check-in was easy, the woman was very sweet and gave us more than enough info about the lodge and the area. We were walked up to our room, and as soon as we opened the door, we could hear the ocean waves! The room was beautiful! We had a top floor, superior oceanfront with balcony. It was perfect! We went right down to the beach to start our vacation. We went to happy hour at the Oasis, a restaurant/bistro on the beach, and, though the drinks were limited, we enjoyed our choices. The prices were a little high, but the view was tremendous. We ate one night at the lounge upstairs, and found it to be quite nice. The food was good, and there was plenty of it. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was immaculate! The bathroom was huge...separate tub and shower. The nightly chocolate , special shell 'gift', and next day's schedule was a treat. One of our negatives was on our departure day, we noticed a 'colony' of small ants crawling on top of the cushioned 'bench' near the window. We checked around the area, but noticed that they were limited to that area. We mentioned it at check-out and they did apologize and said they would look into it. The other thing I had an 'issue' with was the daily charge for a beach chair. The pool lounge chairs were complimentary, but you had to pay a fee for a beach lounge chair...I believe it was $15/day..Really?? For a chair?? I understand that an employee needs to bring your chair to your spot, and we'd obviously would tip them, but then they charge you to use it. I found this to be unnecessary. All in all, it was a great few days for us, and the Ponte Vedra Lodge was very relaxing.

Room Tip: We requested a top floor room, and it was honored...We always prefer the upper floors.

We have been here 3 times in the past couple of years and it is more than I could ever hope for. Relaxing, quiet, service is phenomenal. Love, Love, Love it.

This is not a new hip boutique hotel. This is an authentic club which employs some of the nicest and professional staff you will find anywhere. The location is superb...direclty on the beach. The rooms are spacious and clean. Yes, the decor is somewhat dated, but it lends itself to a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The bathroom was very spacious, with a separate tub and shower and nicely outfitted. This was a completely enjoyable stay. Food service was reasonable in price and good in quality. There are many nice options for dining away. We liked Restaurant Medure and loved the Palm Valley Fish Camp. Walking on the beach here is easy as the sand is packed and the views are nice since there are no highrises nearby. A great place to stay away from crowds and with super "old-fashioned" service.

Room Tip: All have views of the ocean. I liked our room, 407, which was close to the pool, restaurant, and fr...

Just spent four leisurely days a the The Lodge and Club at Ponte Vedre Beach. Excellent fodd, attentive service by the staff. Great golf nearby. Old Florida at its best.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are a plus and worth the little bit extra cost.

This is 1 mile south of the PV Inn&Club. It has a much better pool-side restaurant menu (Oasis) than the Inn, but the pool was under renovations while we were there. They have a shuttle to take you to the amenities at the Inn&Club if you prefer their pools or want to go to the spa. We loved having a fridge/microwave to eat a simple breakfast on the terrace overlooking the ocean, and we also loved the fireplace, vaulted ceilings and jacuzzi tub. We brought smore ingredients to make in our room and found they were having a beach bonfire with free smores the day we arrived. Concierge service recommended excellent restaurants, made our reservations for us and checked out DVDs to us (free services). The tea time was perfect after a day at the pool, we needed a small snack and rest before getting ready for dinner. The complimentary tea time (with sandwiches/scones) and touches like the bathrobes and turn down service (chocolates and seashells) just made the experience feel that much more pampered. We found everything to be clean, comfortable and every staff person to be extremely warm and agreeable. I imagine in August it would be a bit warm to be walking the external corridor to your room, but once the pool renovation is complete I think this would still be my preference above the Inn&Spa. Wonderful resort in a wonderful town!

Room Tip: I like high ceilings, so I preferred the 2nd floor. Also with external corridors it made me feel saf...

My husband and I stayed at The Lodge in Ponte Vedra in March, 2012 for 3 days. The staff was wonderful, especially the valet and front desk. We were also visiting for a wedding, and coordinator, Nicole did a great job in ensuring the ceremony and reception ran smoothly.

My husband and I enjoyed a nice, relaxing weekend. The rooms were great, especially the oceanfront views and huge bathrooms. It is definitely a quiet hotel in a somewhat secluded area. The only negative was that the poolnwas under comstruction, and this was not communicated prior tom our arrival. However, once we arrived, the front desk was very accommodating when we voiced our displeasure.

This is a great getaway, and we will definitely visit again!

Room Tip: Check online rates or call the front desk prior to to see if there are lower rates or specials.

Stayed at the Lodge for 4 nights starting on 2/18. Arrived late and bell staff, valet, and desk personnel were very courteous. Check-in was easy. Walked to room in the open air, since walkways were not fully enclosed. Room was very nice, a bit small, but accommodating. The reservation I made stated the room had a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub, but the tub wasn't there. The bell person said he could check and see if one was available, but we declined. The non-jacuzzi tub was a soaking version, very deep and comfortable. Loved the glass enclosed shower; plenty of room and excellent amenities. The bed was very comfortable; probably one of the best we've had. Temperature controls in the room worked fine and the HVAC system was fairly quiet. Since we had an oceanfront room, we took a peek and the view was excellent; a quick walk to their private beach, though public access was available off property. But due to the time of year, and the cooler weather, the beach was fairly empty. The rooms had twice daily service. We were very surprised on Sunday morning when we went for breakfast, spent about 45 minutes in the restaurant, and our room was fully done by the time we got back. This fast service was also mirrored on the other days. Odessa, you did a great job!

Only negative on the room; we found out on the 3rd and 4th night that the walls are a bit thin. Occupants in the adjacent room talked a bit loudly and the noise came through the wall. Wouldn't wake you up, but it didn't help getting to sleep.

Restaurant service was excellent; Buddy as the maitre de was an excellent representative of the fine service provided in the Innlet Dining Room. Pricing was very reasonable for breakfast and lunch and food quality was fine and prepared well. The only stickler someone may have is that an automatic 20% tip is added to your food and bar bill. You have no choice in the matter. However, overall service fully met, and even exceeded, the 20% add-on, We had no problem with it, other than the 20% tip added on to a bar bill. That seemed a bit high, unless the bar person also provided food service, which he did on several occasions. For straight drinks though, I'd prefer to allow me to determine the tip. BTW, Kevin behind the bar was also very good and another example of the excellent staff.

We can't comment on the spa, which was located at the sister property (The Inn and Club); however pricing seemed to bit higher than other comparable spa services at other comparable places (Pebble Beach, The Sanctuary at Kiawah, Skana at Turnning Stone Resort, Nemacolin, Lansdowne Resort in VA, etc.). The Health Club had a wide variety of equipment, though I missed my daily upright bike regimen (didn't have one). Most of the equipment in the main room had dedicated TVs attached and the room temperature was quite comfortable. There were the usual water, coffee, tea, towels, etc. services available and staying at the Lodge or Inn gave you free membership. The heated olympic-size pool was located next to the center and accessible through doors from the center to the pool area. Water temperature was fine, though the outside air made the overall experience a bit cold (it was 54 degrees and quite windy on the 20th). One of the adult pools at the Lodge was closed for renovations; it was supposed to re-open on 2/24, but that was not going to happen.

There is access to golf at the Inn (2 courses), but you can also arrange for golf at other area courses, inclcuding the Valley and Stadium course at TPC Sawgrass; just check with the concierge who can make the arrangements.

Overall, this was the kind of trip you're glad you made. An excellent job by all!

Room Tip: If you want a room with a Jacuzzi tub, you need to ask for it. They advertise that the oceanfront r...
