Passing through Jacksonville area on the way back from Orlando to Atlanta and we stayed one night in a villa at Sawgrass. Have to say overall that the resort is very nice - kind of a one stop shop with something for all members of a family or multi-ages traveling together. Main hotel is renovated, open, comfortable and welcoming. Large lobby with tons of places to sit, work, eat, people watch or just relax. Lobby overlooks lake, pool area and leads out to golf area - which we did not use. Plenty of dining options with all price points throughout the main resort area. Full service Starbucks onsight. VERY family friendly overall. Initially was concerned that it would not be kid-friendly but there were children everywhere and seemed to be welcome and catered to throughout the resort.
We did not see inside the hotel's main rooms as we had a villa. Agree with other posters who mention that a simple redo of mainly the bathroom area in the villa would make a 100% difference. Granite and cabinet replacement on the vanity and resealing/reglazing of what has to be a 1970s tub - would bring the entire room into par with the rest of the resort. That said - beds, linens, etc in the villa area are comfortable and updated. Was nice having an outside porch. VERY short walk to the main hotel area.
Did not use or go into the on-site spa area but think it would be an awesome activity for a girls weekend. Spa has it's own facility away from main hotel.
