Have not been to a Houston's in a couple years. Just went per a friends request. Wow, the pork chop was amazing. Juicy, tender, and an extremely thick cut make up their pork chop. My friend ordered a steak, which looked delicious. The service was very good and friendly, especially so for a busy Friday night. I don't order pork chops hardly ever... Must say, can't wait to go back for another. Also, we both had vodka rocks, it was a good pour.

Staff was very accommodating. Wait was not bad for a Saturday night and we went upside to the TIKI bar. They don't up charge for premium liqour and the Martini's were great. The salmon, steak and chicken were all very good. Dinner salads are large enough to split between two and the baked potatoes were perfectly cooked with a wonderful smoky flavor.

The prices for drinks and dinner are not cheap but the quality warrants it. We will certainly go back here again. The location is right on the Interocoastal and the restaurant is tiered so that you can see outside. You can also dine outside along the water front.

This has been a long time favorite and we have noticed that the food portions have gotten smaller and prices have gone through the roof over the years. When they closed the Ft Lauderdale property due to lease lost a few years back, we mourned, as we used to go twice a month for Sunday lunch. We now travel to Pompano, but rarely go these days as there are better choices for the price. They were so far ahead of their time, but now have a lot of competition and deliver less for what they charge- going backwards. The salads and spinach dip, still excellent, but the portion sizes are so small for lunch prices that it makes them an after thought instead of our only thought.

The good: there were so many servers that we were never left wanting anything for long. We sat outside and the atmosphere emanated a perfect Sunday Funday vibe. Free valet parking is available. The tuna starter and veggie burger were delicious. The cut of steak was just what the menu described, although it was cooked under- that's better than over, right?

The bad: The artichoke special was drowning in butter, my husband didn't mind, but I couldn't taste anything but that. The caesar salad came out quickly, but was warm and the lettuce was soft.

The ugly: Everywhere we go, my kiwi hubby orders a fried egg with his steak. A seemingly simple side. We were surprised how blase our server treated our request. She said she would check and then we heard nothing until he was mid-bite half way through the steak. She curtly replied that they couldn't do it because they don't have eggs. Strange. A fine dining restaurant without eggs. . .hmph. This is especially curious because a fried egg is part of another dish offered on the lunch menu.

For the price of this meal, we expected a bit more consideration.
