We enjoyed our sunset stroll along this fairly basic pier which is popular with fishermen. The cafe was unfortunately closed in the evening but the toilet facilities were well maintained and a really useful feature!

We run on the beach and love the new walks and park like atmosphere unfortunately they have done little upgrade the pier. The snack bar area is dirty and the snack bar is open randomly. Occasionally they open the restrooms before 7AM and being an early runner not knowing when anything will be open is a problem. Overall when the snack bar is open the staff is very friendly and the area is patrolled in the AM as there are a few homeless who sleep in the bushes and on the beach., The lights just went on, the beach has just added chairs and cabanas for rent, and the bathrooms are generally clean. Please fix the snack bar!!!!!

This is a charming place to watch the sun rise. In the morning, fishermen use the end of the pier for fishing . . . and conversation. The view to the north, toward the Hillsboro Lighthouse was straight out of an oil painting when the 8-9 am sun hit the small whitecaps and created different colors of green in the water. Unlike the Deerfiled Beach pier, Pompano's Pier is free! The walkway is well landscaped. A small play area and fitness area near the concessions stand (at the foot of the pier) are well designed and used carefully by residents and tourists. Seating, shower towers, and tables are placed throughout the area as well. In addition to the the concessions stand, a few restaurants are available near the relatively spacious parking area.

The whole Pompano beach area has recent;y undergone a major up-grade. It's a beautiful place -- complete with exercise equipment, play ground, picnic shelters, landscaping, and crowned by the pier that's great for walking, ocean viewing.

Just hoping that they will add a restaurant soon. But for now the hot dog stand does a nice job.

Even if you don't fish it's nice to take a walk on. The water was green. There is supposed to be natural corals close to the middle of the pier. There is a concession stand too in case you get hungry or thirsty, although, Briny's Pub is just right down the street too.
