“Really friendly staff, clean and comfy”
Reviewed August 17, 2011

The one thing that attracted us to this particular Premier Inn was probably one of the main reasons it might put others off - the location. Knowing Swansea a little, I didn't want to choose the central Wind Street as I figured it would be really noisey at night (it's party central) and the waterside location didn't have nearby parking. I had a toddler with me so needed quiet and be able to unload a mountain of toys etc for our 2 night stay!

The hotel is located on a retail park, night next to a 24 ASDA, which was very handy for grabbing various vital bits and bobs I'd forgotten. Despite being in the corner closest to the store, I didn't hear a thing - lovely and quiet. Not even air con, or other motor type noises. There was very little noise inside the hotel either, despite the receptionist saying they were busy that weekend. Ample parking for all.

The receptionist that greated us was lovely. After a 5 hour drive we found ourselves arriving a little early, but that was no trouble to the staff who went to see if there was a room ready for us. She was very attentive and my little boy was full of smiles for her (and the odd checky frown which delighted her even more). It wasn't long before we found our room - a good sized family room with the cot all ready for us. Very clean, very comfy bedroom. The bathroom was also spotless - couldn't fault anything.

At night we didn't hear a sound either - despite being so shattered we all fell asleep at 9:30pm. Plenty of hot water for all three of us.

On day 2 we made the mistake of going over ASDA for breaky, thinking we would get better value for money. Egh - don't bother! On the day we left, we choose to indulge on 2 continentals in the hotel restaurant instead. We left stuffed! So much to choose from, and everything was lovely and fresh. My little boy did well out of it as well (he wasn't charged because he was so young - little did they know, this boy knows how to EAT)! I only wished that we had had breakfast there the previous morning too.

Again, the staff in the restaurant were really friendly and attentive, especially the lady who went and found crayons for my boy (who then tried to eat them too).

Usually I stay with friends in Swansea, but I would definately stay here again in the future!

We enjoy staying in Swansea, although it's not far for us. The staff are friendly and Taybarns is good value if not particularly high quality as an eating place.

We stay at quite a few Premier Inns and have to say that this one was one of the better hotels we have visited. The staff were very efficient and friendly and the rooms clean and tidy. We did find, however, that the room (and hotel in general) was very warm and although a fan was provided, it was a shame that air-con isn't provided more often in Premier Inns.
The Taybarns pub provided great food, but please be aware that it isn't the place for a quiet drink in the evening. The pub operates a 'help yourself and eat all you can' service, which is very popular with the surrounding area and was very, very busy and noisy. It did calm down late in the evening and to be fair, the food was superb (hence the popularity). Only a few tables exist for those who want to drink, so be aware of this if you want to stay in the pub for the evening. Breakfast was very good and the staff most pleasant.
A very enjoyable stay.

Just stayed at Premier Inn in Swansea, South Wales. The staff were extremely friendly & helpful. The room was clean & fresh. The beds confortable and the ensuite was roomy and clean. We also had breakfast, whic I would highly recommend. We will certainly use Premier Inn again in preferance to any other budget hotel. We have used Travel Lodge before, but this was by far more superior!

Top quality family room and service, very clean with excellent facilities. Although a small fan is provided the room is very hot. Staff were very helpful and provided a second fan but air conditioning would make the stay unbeatable. Fabulous breakfast with very friendly and helpful staff. Taybarns also provides a fabulous eating experience. Would definately stay again and take my own more powerful fan. Great value for money thanks Premier!

Our room cost £29 for a family of 4, a real bargain. As it was so cheap I thought it might be awful but was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and really pleasant but what prompted me to leave a review was how nice the staff were, in particular the receptionist. She was really helpful when I phoned her because we couldn't find the hotel. She was lovely, chatty and helpful when we checked in and she even printed out directions for us so we could meet up with family the next day. We paid extra for breakfast which was great too.
