Stayed here for one night prior to a cruise. Location and staff were great. We booked this room using AA airline miles, but upon arrival, the reservation could not be found. Front desk staff handled the situation promptly and all ended well. Booked the King Suite room, which was a great layout. Separate bedroom and living area, with a frig, microwave, coffee setup, etc. Split bathroom with dual vanities was also nice.

Bed comfort was a slight disappointment and not on par with similarly priced hotels from other chains. Bed linens were clean, but a bit "tired" from lots of use and laundering. Maintenance seems to be suffering slightly as we'll, which was pointed out in another recent review. Our room was sorely in need of some paint touch up in several places. The safety latch on our door was loose, and the bathtub area definitely needed attention (caulk separating around tub, grime around fixtures, etc). Hallway carpeting on our floor also had lots of dirt spots and either needed a good cleaning or replacement.

The main restaurant was closed for sit down seating, but the lobby bar was open and we were able to order off the restaurant menu. That actually worked out well, but still a bit odd that their restaurant was closed for seating.

One annoying issue with Sheraton is their handling of room wireless Internet service. There is a free(shared) option, and a premium option for 9.95 per day. We were never able to connect from our room using the free option and eventually caved in for the paid option. The paid option is definitely faster than what is normally experienced with hotel wireless access, but still overkill for just doing email. Sheraton would be better served to do away with these confusing options, stop trying nickel and dime their customers, and just offer free wireless and be done with it.

Overall, it was still a good stay in spite of the few issues pointed out above. We would consider staying here again, but would also shop around a bit more before doing so.

Room Tip: King suites are a very good option if you desire a larger space and like having a real living area with couch, chair, etc. Room also has a frig and microwave located in a bar setup arrangment. nice. Couch is actually a queen size sofa bed, which works great for kids.

We went to the hotel for a conference on November 10 we had a King bed suite. The Staff was great the housekeeping lady was even more amazing. The only complaint I do have is that the restaurant staff is VERY SLOW we were sitting there for breakfast and it took 10 mins before anyone acknowledged us and I came back later to get a coffee and it took 15 mins to get a cup of coffe to go. But other than that the room was very spacious very comfortable for myself my fiancee and our 6yr old daughter. Would highly recommend it aslong as you dont plan on using the restaurant.

Room Tip: 8th floor was very quiet the view was not so great

This is a nice hotel with great rooms, nice pool and workout room. When we checked in, the rep at the front desk told my wife we had a bad credit card, that was not the case. She did not how to swipe it correctly. It took her forever to issue the room keys. When my son asked what time the pool is open till, she said it is closed. Then he had to ask again and then she told him what time the pool closes. Then when I asked how to get on line with my iPad, she could not tell me how and she was short with my family.

The waiter at the restaurant served our drinks, then he disappeared for 30 minutes, never checking our drinks. When he finally returned with the check, he told me to put a tip on the check. I have never had a server tell me to put a tip on the check. I thought this was rude.

When I returned the 2nd day, I had a positive experience with the front desk clerk. He gave my daughter a toothbrush. He also gave me directions for getting on line. This is important when you have 3 kids with iPods who need to get on line. The man working the front desk was very nice and professional.

I was pretty impressed by my first stay at this hotel. It was really a good value considering it is a suite style hotel with a mini-refregirator and microwave. I stayed here a few more times and ...

I think the fact the rooms are big and are suites means there are more maintenance issues. 2 TVs to maintain, more furniture, etc.

Usually, staying on a high floor or the end of the hallway means quieter rooms. Be careful here. Some rooms on the top floor are right under the roof-top pool. So, you will hear strange sounds above you. At the end of the hallways, there are huge fans that can be noisy.

There are also some machines outside between the buildings that generate noise. I also felt a vibration from the wall from some kind of machine.

It seems the hotel's phone disconnects automatically on inbound calls after a set amount of time. The hotel denies it but I ran into this during my stay on multiple calls.

Like many SPG hotels, this hotel offer the SPG Green Choice. This is the only hotel I stay in the system that cannot post it correctly - other hotels, they post as Green Choice. This one posts as some kind of customer bonus and sometimes do not post. So, this tells you about the training of the staff.

Room Tip: Do not stay under the pool if you don't want strange sounds above you.

We have stayed here twice now, the second time for five nights. Both times were before a cruise and we would opt to stay here anytime we stay in Fort Lauderdale. It was clean, quiet, and had wonderful staff.

Both times we had a room that had a sliding door room divider to close off the bedroom from the sitting area, which was great for even more sound proofing, as we could not hear any noise from the hall way at all. The bedroom was totally private with it's own door to the washroom area. The tub and toilet were in a separate room from the double sink area, making it convenient and private for everyone sharing the room. There was a microwave, sink, and fridge in the sitting area, which was much appreciated for our longer stay the second time.

The bed was comfortable and had great bedding.

The parking was free. The wifi had a fee in the room, but was free in the lobby.

The lobby lounge / bar served great meals in the evening. The Maui Maui burgers with yam fries were our favourite.

We also tried the breakfast buffet one morning and it had lots of selection and the food was hot and replenished often and, as I recall, the price was reasonable.

But our favourite part of the hotel was the roof top pool and hot tub area. Fabulous views from up there and the pool area was clean and tidy. We were there in February and hardly anyone was using the pool. We felt like we were in our own private resort.

Lots to do in the area and driving was not a problem to all the places we wanted to go. Sawgrass Mills mall is only a short drive away.

All in all, a great place to stay.
