This is a great locally owned and operated small town cafe. Love to meet friends here for lunch. Marty's chicken salad sandwich is the best around! All the breads for sandwiches are made in the restaurant, as well as the cookies and macaroons. Chances are Marty herself will wait on you, always smiling and ready for a hug! Lots of great sandwiches and homeade soups with reasonable prices. Nice location within walking distance to many antique shops. Trains frequently pass by the restaurant...great for kids who love trains. Another nice treat is a player piano that's always playing a song.

We came across this adorable family owned café by the recommendation of a local person we met at the tourist bureau. Old time style and great eats. Large variety of soups and sandwiches on your choice of three types of homemade bread. We had the smoked meat/pastrami on rye with melted cheese and spicy mustard - it was the best sandwich we have had in a restaurant for a long time. Others in our party had other types of sandwiches and some had salads. Accolades from everyone. Most sandwiches were in the $6 to $8 range served with a dill pickle and potato chips. The staff and owner were so friendly! You have to have a meal here if you are in Plant City.

The Whistle Stop Cafe is a beautiful old building in the historic district of Plant City that offers good food (especially their steak salad), quaint and authentic antique atmosphere and offers an excellent view of the CSX mainline to Tampa.

it is the perfect place for railfans to stop for lunch without losing sight of the rail traffic and an excellent place for those interested in good food at fair prices to enjoy a nice meal. The piano player on Saturday was a nice bonus too. The wait staff was quite pleasant too.

Not only is the the owner about the friendliest lady i've ever met, but the food is great too. The food always tastes fresh. I believe they make their bread daily which really adds to the sandwiches. Only drawback...not open for breakfast !

I always try to support local businesses, and most importantly it's within my 5 square mile requirement for weekend dining. :)
