I thought the food was very good but overpriced. $47 for a New York Steak. It was well prepared and very tasty. In fact all of the food was great. I was taken back that we had to ask three times for more bread. They only gave us 2 little wedges of bread and it was gone in an instant. Our waitress was not paying attention and had to ask for more bread again and again. At prices they charge, I found this to be a total annoyance. I almost felt guilty asking again and again. Maybe it's the policy of the restaurant to be stingy with the Bread
Overall we totally enjoyed our meal but I would not return for another dinner.

Waitress recommended special. It was bad...triple tail fish. Over salted, mystery side dish. Waitress forgot salad, rushed us thru courses ,overcharged for item not ordered. We will not return. Empty tables from the time we arrived, but we were not seated for twenty minutes.

We all ate something different, but everyone was certain his or her choice was the best! And the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico was worth the drive. The meal began with warm breads and their own homemade gourmet butter, and every single course was superb. My own choice was bronze shrimp which was grilled shrimp served on a bed of watermelon chunks, feta cubes, and mint... an unheard-of combination that tasted divine.

We stayed here for six nights and really enjoyed our stay. The food was good and the service excellent. We stayed upstairs above the bar in the original house rooms, which do have lot of character being part of the original house. Sure it’s a bit noisy on the weekends, but we knew that coming in...so we either stayed at the bar and met new friends or watched tv until it quietened down around 11 or so. And sure the breakfast is cold and not the greatest, but if you need eggs head out to one of the nearby eateries. The views of the sunset from the docks is unbeatable and you can charter a boat for a trip to the outer islands. We not hesitate to stay here again.

If you want a simply clean comfortable place to spend a couple of days relaxing and letting the busy electronic world pass you by, Tarpon Lodge & Restaurant on Pineland, Florida is the place for you. The sunset view will be etched in the fabric of your mind long after you leave the property. The stroll on the dock by the bay will provide the serenity to let the stresses of life pass you by as you gaze on Sanibel and Captiva Islands and see the boats coming and going from Cabbage Key. When the sun is gone and you yearn for a bit to eat, you will only be steps away from a wonderful restaurant with very good food and excellent service. The bar, though simple, has plenty of wine to quench the wine lover's thirst. With the cool breeze blowing in from the balcony off the waters of the gulf you will sleep well. Without question your getaway will sooth your soul and require you to take one more stroll around the property before you heading back to reality. But as you walk you will be thinking about when your next Tarpon Lodge experience will occur.
