We stumbled on this restaurant as our original destination was across the street at the research center. We had a wonderful lunch of their roasted corn and crab soup and the Cuban sandwich. The soup was one of the best we have had-full of crab meat. Our service was perfect. During lunch a cool front blew in, the staff was prepared to lower the awnings to protect us from the elements, but the awning was clear plastic, so we were able to still enjoy the view. The history of the lodge is posted and you could just feel the ambience of Old Florida on the veranda, Such a find!

Thank you for writing your review. We feel fortunate that your trip to the Calusa Heritage Trail/Randell Research Center led you to us. We are always happy to welcome new guests (and keep them warm in this cooler Florida weather).

We will let our chefs know that you thought our chowder was one of the best you've had. Our Blue Crab and Roasted Corn Chowder is on a list of 100 dishes you should try in your lifetime but, it's been our experience that, our guests like to "cross it off their bucket list" each time they dine with us.

See you again soon!

One of the best restaurants we have eaten at in SW Florida. The location is like going back into time with beautiful views of Charlotte Harbor on park like grounds. The staff was excellent and the menu fantastic. We went with friends and they were wowed by this restaurant. This is a casual yet intimate type of destination that should be on everyone's must go list.

We stayed at tarpon lodge over a recentt weekend for a friends wedding. Apparently the deal is that they allow you to book the entire resort if you have a wedding there, which was great. The staff were helpful and the grounds were very well maintained. This is the kind of place to come to if you like a quiet weekend getaway.

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you decided to stay with us for the weekend of your friend's wedding. October and November are our busiest wedding months. It's a beautiful time to be married in Southwest Florida.

For larger weddings, we do place the entire property on hold so that the couple can invite their guests to stay for the entire weekend! Some of our Northern wedding guests will stay for the entire week. We love getting to know the bride and groom's family and friends throughout their stay. We hope that you will visit us again!

My wife and I stayed for the Thanksgiving Holidays since our children were off with their spouses families. The time at the Lodge was fabulous. Accomodations were more than adequate, the porch overlooked the marina, bay and pool. Sunsets were beautiful from the porch or the impeccable grounds. The restuarant was fabulous and the special Thanksgiving Menu was superb. There is plenty to do - for $35 you can catch a Ferry from the marina next door and have a boat ride to Cabbage Key for lunch. Catch the Ferry again and go to North Captiva for beers and Cornhole at Barnacles and then catch the late ferry home and watch the captain get dolphins to surf your wake. End the day with a cocktail at the Lodge bar and then wactch the sunset from your bayside chair. A great time for couples and families - highly recommended.

My wife and I spent last week on vacation at Tarpon Lodge. We stayed at the "Cottage" . The cottage was so cozy, clean and comfortable, it exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were met by a very friendly and courteous staff, offering us tips on everything from fishing to local must see sites. The restaurant was unbelievable, incredible menu, with service that matched. The views and sunsets were spectacular. We rented a boat and used it every day to visit places like Captiva, Cabbage Key, Sanibel and Boca Grande. The fishing was great, and the dolphins with their antics even better. We will return to this lovely lodge to vacation again. Highly endorse Tarpon Lodge and their Facilty. Also very romantic. Thank you all for the great time we had. Pat B.

Thank you for writing a review! We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your week long stay in one of our efficiency units.

Renting a boat sounds like a wonderful way to explore the local islands. There are also many water taxis, ferries and fishing guides that our guests call upon when they want to get out on the water!

We look forward to seeing you again.

My husband and I were at the Tarpon Lodge this past weekend for our friends' wedding. Everything was spectacular. It is a smaller lodge and quite isolated and private. I believe there are only 27 rooms. It was a really neat experience to have the entire lodge to ourselves basically since every room was occupied by guests of the wedding. The lodge is adorable from the moment we walked in and the staff was extremely friendly and eager to show us around. Our room was in the Island House. We were in Room 4, which is a waterfront room. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. The views were spectacular. The food at the wedding was delicious, especially the mahi. It was so yummy. The maid of honor had the Sanibel Room and this is the room the bride took her "getting ready pics" in. The room was beautiful and had the best view of the rooms we went in. If we have the opportunity to make it back to the Tarpon Lodge one day, we would request the Sanibel Room. We had a wonderful time at Tarpon Lodge and were sad to leave.

Room Tip: The Sanibel Room was the nicest of the several rooms we went in and out of. If we get the opportuni...

We can not even begin to tell you how much your review MADE OUR DAY! There are 22 units at Tarpon Lodge and, this past weekend, the entire property was booked by the bride and groom and their wedding guests.

We were also sad when A & T's wedding weekend was over. It was a lot of fun. We enjoyed their families' and guests' brief stay at the lodge as much as we enjoyed getting to know A & T as they planned their wedding. A truly wonderful couple!

Thanks again! We hope that you and your husband book a stay in the Sanibel Room sometime in the near future.

My mother and i loved this place. The rooms were cozy and immaculate. The beds were very comfortable and the cotton sheets and blankets were delightful. The room smelled fresh and the bathroom was pristine. The views are gorgeous. We watched the sunset from our dinner table. The food was local and delicious as well as beautifully presented. Most of all the service in all areas was impeccable. Highly recommended!
