If you are really hungry, you better eat a snack first. The food is good. The grilled fish and grilled shrimp are very good. The coleslaw is quite yummy. They have a small kitchen so the food takes a while. Tonight they cooked all the to-go orders before the patrons in the restaurant. It took an hour and a half just to get some fried fish and fried shrimp. My kids were ready to pass out by the time the food came out. But when it finally showed up, it was tasty.

Hot days are what you get in Florida in July. No surprise! What was nice was the misting system installed around the patio area. Our server, who was great, seated us at the second table so that we wouldn't get wet from all the mist in the corner. It would have been o.k. to get a little wet!

I had AYCE steamed shrimp. They were a little small and you only got 8 at a time. Our server put in double orders each time I reordered. Did I mention that she was great! My bride had a grouper po-boy! The grouper filet wasn't the largest I have seen, but she said it was very good.

Drinks were reasonable.

The patio is very nice for folks with walkers or with wheels. I didn't get inside to see how open it was.

This is a place we go to once or twice when in Perdido - it's not too far so we don't have to fight any traffic to get there - we can sit outside & the food is consistently good. Shrimp or fish- fried, grilled or blackened & you cannot go wrong. The cole slaw is delicious with tiny shrimp in it. We also love the hush puppies, new potatoes, fries…& all of it really. If you want fancy - this is not for you. They also do "all you can eat" & they give huge portions on the first round…we are usually too full to get seconds - they do this for shrimp & fish on different nights. It is really for the fried option - but for only $1 more you can have it prepared any way you like. If you have never been & you are looking for good food in a casual atmosphere - go!

Just spent a week at Perdido Key and can say nothing great about any of the food we ate. This place was however the only place we ate at twice. The price was good as well as the service. Lots of fried options which I don't eat. The oysters were good. I had the mahi tacos the first night and they were not great. Weird sauce that made them too tangy but oddly flavorless. If you keep you expectations at a minimum while eating anywhere in Perdido you won't be disappointed.

Upon our second visit to the shrimp basket, we were pleased with the food. The speed of service however was slow on this particular day. Shrimp, poboys and fish great as always. Still impressed with the All you can eat fish and shrimp specials. This is a decent sized chain with several restaurants all over Alabama and Florida but they are consistent for good food!
