We arrived at this hotel in the late afternoon to get ready for dinner. The hotel is near a railroad track and the restored "Grand Hotel" terminal has been incorporated into the present day hotel management offices. Any train buff would enjoy staying here and seeing the old terminal which was completed in 1913. At that time the building was designed, not by architects, but by L&N railroad engineers. In 1979, the building was listed in the National Register of Historc Places as an architectural landmark. The breakfast was wonderful and started our day off right. We also ate in the dining room one night for dinner and enjoyed the local cuisine very much.

Room Tip: If I had it to do over again, I would choose a room opposite the train track because a train comes t...

My husband, 2 children ages 19 and 16 stayed here in January, to see Jeff Dunham at the Civic Center in Pensacola.
The bathrooms are in need of a overhaul, but apart from that we like it there, as it is within walking distance to the civic center, and we don't have to fight the traffic.
The staff are always very friendly.

Very impressive service. Everyone wants to help. Friendly staff. Great history so be sure to walk around and check out the old RR station. We had several bell hops provide lots of history on the hotel. They have been trained well. Not impressed with the shops.

Room was nothing special, a place to sleep. TV was poor. Small size with analog signal no HGTV signal. I was shocked with the poor picture quality in room #312. View was okay, overlooked covered hallway to restaurant.

Two queens. Wife said bed was okay but mine sagged...it was old. Had hot water in shower and the bathroom is SMALLer than SMALL. Desk was good size and chair was older than old and arm rest were a mess from scrapping on bottom of table.

This hotel was only a value because we got it for way under market price thanks to Priceline. It's close to convention center if that is important. Hotel prices down town are high so this was a good deal overall.

Room Tip: No complimentary breakfast but they do have a restaurant. Typical high priced breakfast. Did not u...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Quite appreciated. I will pass on your kind words to our front desk staff and our bellman. We have large corner rooms. If you are back in our area please reserve with us and ask for a corner upgrade. You'll love the space and view.

I booked this hotel through another website. The staff was more than helpful and roomservice was wonderful! I ordered two incredible meals which were also priced fairly. I loved the historic location and the beautiful architecture throughout the motel. The only "complaints" I would have was the tiny bathroom and no view. I suppose that's what I got because I booked this room through a bid. I did hear the trains, but the sound does not disturb my sleep. I will stay here again, but will make sure I ask for a view.

Room Tip: Expect to hear trains (which I love) and ask for a room with a view.

We booked 2 rooms here for a last minute family trip. I had never stayed here before. I was impressed with the facility-it's a historic property and very attractive. I was impressed with the desk staff. Our representative went to extra trouble to find us 2 rooms on the same floor. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable.
The negatives: one elevator still out of order after more than a week (and the hotel was very full), a train whistle DOES awaken you at 3:45, and there is no included breakfast.
Still, the positives prevail- I would happily return.

Room Tip: I read that higher floors were quieter- I was only on the 5th floor.

Check in was super fast, got upgraded to the 2 story suites on 15. Room is very nice comfy bed, large shower with jacuzzi tub. Location is decent but not the best. Train rolls through at 3:45am blasting the horn the whole way. Bar downstairs is a little long in the tooth could use a refresh, service was decent pours were not up to the prices. Great hotel with a lot of history.

Located in the former L&N railroad station, I'm guessing as part of a redevelopment project. Wonderful, interesting building with lots of charm and character. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. Front desk was great - they gave us a couple of "wooden nickels" for free drinks!

Only downside is that there is still an active railroad track nearby with some associated noise. No big deal for us - we're sound sleepers - but something to be aware of if you're not. Also, internet was leisurely.
