Owner description: We are non-profit Bird Sanctuary for exotic birds that for one reason or another are no longer wanted by their owners. These wonderful companions sometimes live a long as 80 to 100 years and outlive their favorite person. Since we are solely staffed by volunteers and are funded by the $5 admission fee - we accept only CASH - we do not wish to pay the credit card fees that we could put toward bird food.

“Family fun for everyone!”
Reviewed July 24, 2014 via mobile

We stopped today during our beach stay. With a $5 donation per person, this rescue provides each person with a solo cup of peanuts and instruction on how to feed the birds, peacocks, emus, and turkey. The staff is very friendly and happy to provide information about the place and birds of all sizes and colors. At one point my kids were excited to have 12 giant macaws gathered before them to be fed. This made for a nice addition to our beach trip, especially for the price, and we would love to stop again next time.

“Fun For All Ages”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

Uncle Sandy's is a worthwhile stop for small kids, teens and big kids (like me). For $5 you get a Solo Cup of peanuts and Billy, the manager, will give you a tour, time permitting. The macaws are beautiful, the peacocks were enchanting and the other birds, well, just fun. My favorite are the emus. They're a little off-putting, at first. But, when you warm up to them you see they are worth the admission by themselves.

“Very nice”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

This place was a lot of fun and my 4 year old had a blast. The owner was very friendly and spent time with us telling us about lots of the birds and even introduced us to Sweetie, who came and hung out with all of us and told us she loved us.

It is amazing he does it all himself. You cannot beat the price. If we lived closer we would love to volunteer there.

“A great & fun experience!”

We had a great time feeding the birds and getting to see them up close. It's a fun activity that you can feel good about paying for:($5 donation per person). It was actually one of the highlights of our trip! Would highly recommend!

“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

For a $5.00 donation you get a cup of peanuts and endless entertainment from rescued Macaws, African Grey, Amazons, conures , Emu's, chickens a very proud Tom Turkey and magnificent Peacocks strutting their beautiful feathers in the boldest of blues and the snowiest of white.
The staff are very knowledgeable about the birds and love them as their own.
This place is a must see for all visitors and locals alike and will become one of your favorite places to visit in Pensacola.
