“Sunsets & Sumptuous food!”
Reviewed November 2, 2012

We have visited the Fish House twice in the past 12 months. It is nestled nicely by the water & small charter dock area with boats tied in.
My husband & I took our 2 Tweens with us and they enjoyed both the atmosphere & food as much as we did. Several restaurants are all loosely tied together in multiple buildings and we always enjoy sitting outside on the multi-tiered deck seating the best.
It's always fun because you can people watch, where dress code fluctuates between pearls to board shorts~ something for everyone.
Additionally, they feature live music in the outdoor bar area after sunset that gets quite lively.
One of their feature dishes is "Shrimp & Grits a Ya Ya"...my all time FAVE! It is a delicate overlay of multiple flavors and spices that is so much fun to 'dig' your way down through. Super filling and totally TASTY!
My husband and Older daughter adore their mussels. The wine selection is decent as well.

Most delightful is arriving early evening after a day of fun In the sun & drinking a chilled glass of wine as the magnificent hues of sunset unfold before you over the lapping water.
We love to try new places, but the Fish House has become a staple when we travel to Pensacola!

“Nice outdoor area, food...nothing special”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

I ate at the Fish House in October with my partner and another couple. It was a warm weekend afternoon, and we elected to sit out on the back deck under the umbrellas rather than inside. The view was very nice, and the wait staff was attentive throughout the meal. Despite the atmosphere, the food left something to be desired.

For appetizers, we ordered the fried green tomatoes (which came with three dipping sauces) and an order of spicy fried calamari. They were both serviceable items, but nothing groundbreaking or anything out of the ordinary. Two of my dining companions ordered the flounder with a side of pasta. The consensus was along the lines of "good, not great". My other dining companion ordered a sampler trio of sorts with salmon, which was received in an equal manner. I had a shrimp po'boy that was subpar (dry, flavorless, bread worse than something you could get at Subway or some other cheap sandwich shop), though I will say that the steak fries that came with it were actually quite tasty. Overall, lunch for four came to about 60 bucks. It was a reasonable price all told, but not worth returning.
