“Excellent tapas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2014

Such a wonderful addition to the Pensacola restaurant scene! Maricarmen is an excellent business owner and chef. Her food is prepared fresh and is always delicious. It is a small venue but worth the wait. I wouldn't really consider it a place for dinner, as they don't have any large plates. However, it's great for lunch outside on Palafox (the lump crab melt is my FAVORITE!) or for tapas and drinks before dinner or an event.

“Passing thru”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2014

My wife and I were passing thru on our way to Gulf Shores, AL and wanted to stop somewhere for lunch. We asked a local Professional and he pointed us to Carmens. What a nice place it is - and the food they serve is delicious!!! Carmens is a smaller place with a horse shoe like bar, besides a couple of small tables. The servers behind the bar were so personable and gave us advise as to what we might prefer from the menu. Our meal was served hot and beautifully presented and - it was so tasty! Also worth mentioning is the fact that everything was SUPER clean. Carmens offers lunch from 11AM to 4PM and then changes into a Spanish style Tappas bar from 4PM to 8PM. We wish we could have stayed but unfortunately had to move on. Great going Carmens!!!

“Great small hideout for lunch or beer/wine after work”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2014

This is a new(ish) quirky place just adjacent to the Bodacious Olive and the Bodacious Brew on Palafox.
They have lighter fare, and Beer and Wine. I have tried several different soups, salads and entrees - all have been very good. All made fresh on-premises in what seems like the world's smallest kitchen (apart from food trucks!)
There is bar seating and there are two inside and several outside tables. There are propane heaters if it's chilly out. The staff is friendly and service is prompt. The atmosphere is refreshingly quiet- not somber, but you can actually carry on a normal conversation in your group without hurting yourself.
A definite repeatable experience!

“FANTASTIC!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 1, 2014 via mobile

This is our second trip here and this time we brought friends with us after the double bridge run. Our first trip we stumbled upon it before catching a show at the Little Theater. The bartender helped us pick out some fabulous tapas style nibbles to eat quickly before our show. Wouldn't have mattered because everything comes out so quick! The food was amazing and the staff was very attentive. This second trip, same encounter. Their food is always so tasty and there's such a fantastic selection on the menu it's so hard to choose! The wine and beer selection is also very sizable. The four of us enjoyed everything we ate tremendously. I HIGHLY recommend you pop in.

“Fancy pants”

If you want fresh ingredients and a classy feeling restaurant, try Carmen's. It's a little pricey for lunch, but the food is great!
