Very informative and fun. We actually got to climb the lighthouse and see the great view from the top.

“Excellent Adventure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

What a wonderful place to visit--for families--and for veterans and seniors. The planes were spectacular. We were in awe seeing many of them up close. Many of the exhibits brought back memories for those of us old enough to remember them. You can spend endless hours there. In fact, we went back a second time.

“Seeing naval aviation history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

This gem of history is incredible. Aircraft from every era dating back to the Wright Brothers. Well preserved and nicely displayed. A fantastic place to bring youngsters.

“Interesting visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

We visiting the Pensacola Naval Air Station as we drove through the base enroute to Fort Barrancas, enclosed within the base. One gains a sense of history simply driving through the Air Station. Show your drivers license at the front gate, make sure you're buckled in and have at it. Nice visit.

“Non-History Buff Gives This Museum a Thumbs Up”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2013

My husband watches the History Channel and I don't, so I was a little less than enthusiastic to check this museum out, but it was free, and I love my husband, so I went :-) Let me just say that I loved it!

We didn't go with a Tour Guide, but we caught snippets of a Tour Guide's stories as wandered through this huge facility, and the stories were fascinating. We saw planes, including a Japanese Zero; ships, experienced what life in a submarine is like; turbines/engines; a replica town set up to show what living through World War 11 was like; a Derigible and an Apollo Space Module. All of this for free. If we had chosen to go to an IMAX movie, or jumped in one of the flight simulators, we would have spent anywhere from $8 to $30, but we didn't.

We spent 2 and a half hours there that day, but a history buff could easily spend a whole day. Thumbs Up for the Pensacola Naval Air Station!
