This museum is one of the best you'll ever experience. We spent almost 6 hours going through it. Starting with balloon flights & going through Desert Storm it's educational & a visually delightful time. There are vounteers everywhere to answer questions & offer suggestions. When the lady in the research library heard my husband had been on the Enterprise, she started pulling out books & articles for him to read. And it's free!

With all the previous reviews, it is hard to add much to the fact that it is a great museum. Whether solo or with family, you will find plenty to see or do. Aside from the actual planes, they have tours, Imax films, simulator rides, and airplane flight exhibits/shows. I would plan for most of the day for this trip. Wear comfortable shoes, because you will do a lot of walking. And for those ladies who are cold natured like I am, I was freezing in the museum and went back to the car for a jacket. So you may want to dress for the A/C on high.
They do have a full restaurant there and a very nice gift shop. There is plenty of parking, but best to get early in order to get a space, especially if it is the weekend or a holiday. We got there around 10am on a Friday and there were a lot of cars following us in. There is parking for RV's in the back.

Once again, hard to add to the other terrific reviews. I am from this area and I never hear anyone say anything negative about this museum. Everyone that has gone feels that this museum is high class and well worth the visit. You do not have to be a military or war buff to enjoy what this place has to offer. If you are visiting in the Pensacola area, you need to add this to your list of places to visit.

There is so much to see you can't take it all in. Aircraft from the past 100 years are on display throughout the buildings as well on the ground outside. If you want to know about any navel aircraft, this is the place to go.

If you love planes, military history, and history in general, then this is the place for you! I visited the museum one time before when I was a teenager, and it was a great experience then. This time around, I went with my husband and three small children (6, 5, & 2), who all enjoyed seeing the planes. They have added an additional wing to the museum since my first visit, and it was just as great as the main museum. We didn't get to see the second floor or watch an IMAX movie due to time constraints, but what we did see was well worth the visit. NOTE: The museum doesn't charge admission, so please leave a donation in the box at the front door. You'll be glad you did.

Coming from good old Europe with less current military presence and power this is an amazing show of air power and technical evolution. Even our teenage kids liked it.
