Basically, this is a very atmospheric military bar and canteen with fast food. If you want fine dining, you should go elsewhere. However, if you are spending several hours in the museum, it makes sense to have a snack here.

This is one of the best (and most reasonably priced) restaurants inside an attraction that I have ever been to. The waitresses were all very friendly. The Subic Bay Steak sandwich was very good and loaded with meat. The only downside was they don't offer fries with their sandwiches, only chips.

Although I've eaten at a lot of museums, I'm not sure I can recall what I had at any of the museum restaurants. The same will probably hold true here, although I may remember the unsweetened iced tea because it was exceptional. The atmosphere, however, transcends the food. The first time I was there two 70-something Navy pilots were sitting to my left and one to my right. I spent the lunch eavesdropping on what were literally "war stories". The entire place has more the feeling of a neighborhood bar than a museum restaurant. The Naval Aviation Museum to which this bar/restaurant is appended serves as a ceremonial location for various base activites and functions, which are held in rooms surrounding the public area. Overall, the feeling is that you are part of the Naval Air Station Pensacola without having to be in the Navy.

This bar/grill was transported from the Phillipines, and is loaded with memorabilia.
Great food, great prices.
Try the Subic Bay Steak sandwich and the Nacho Max. Chicken Quesadilla is just OK.

I'm not sure how anyone could rate this restaurant as "terrible", but I suspect an occasional bad experience is expected. The atmosphere fits perfectly with the rest of the museum. Read the front of the menu and it will explain the restaurant is the actual restaurant from the Philippines; very cool. The various squadron plaques covering the walls and ceiling were very entertaining and creative. The sandwiches were very good. Nothing fancy and perhaps a bit over-priced for what you get, but considering the museum is free, also consider what Disney World gets for the food in their theme parks. The few extra bucks paid at the Cubi was no big deal.
