Owner description: The Best View in Town! Climb 177 steps up the historic Pensacola Lighthouse & Museum for one of the most beautiful views on the Gulf Coast. Built in 1859, the lighthouse is located on board NAS Pensacola. The top of the tower offers stunning views of Pensacola Pass (where Pensacola Bay meets the Gulf of Mexico), three forts, the Pensacola skyline and the historic Navy Yard. The fully restored Keepers' Quarters, built in 1869, is home to a museum and a gift shop. Visit this historic spot in America's First Settlement, established in 1559. Make a day of it and visit the National Naval Aviation Museum and Fort Barrancas while you're here. Our nature walk takes you to the white sands of beautiful quiet-water beach–a perfect beach for kids. Bring the family and a picnic lunch and stay a while. The Pensacola Lighthouse and museum is open 7 days/week. Special tours include Blue Angel practices, Light of the Moon and Ghost Hunts. Private tour and function times available as well.

We stopped here on the way to the Naval Museum and were pleasantly surprised. The lighthouse was excellent. The climb up the 177 steps was pretty easy going. As we reached the top, we had a great view of the Blue Angels taking off.

We visited the lighthouse for their full moon night tour. It's great and a lot of fun. Be sure to wear sensible shoes for the trek to the top of the lighthouse and take the tour of the family quarters. Afterwards walk down to the beach.

My room mate & I stopped here after visiting Navy museum which is a very short distance away. A picture perfect day allowed our cameras to photograph a ghost (It does have residents), I felt a gentle tug on my shirt when we visited basement. It is 177 steps up, so be comfortable with walking, especially in tight spaces. Well worth our time to experience it.

We love to visit the local lighthouses when we go on vacation. You can't beat the view at the top and most have some sort of history to read about the lighthouse and the keepers buildings etc. Pensacola lighthouse is a well maintained lighthouse with lots of cool history to read. Nice little gift shop & workers were friendly. You can see the Blue Angels jets (way cool for the 6 & 7 year olds with us) parked to the back of the lighhouse and the front offers a wonderful view of the bay.

We got there late afternoon and they were decorated for the halloween / spooky lighthouse event which seemed like it would be really neat to do the light house at night for a ghost / spooky event. Great afternoon trip and great lighthouse.

What a great view and fun attraction at NAS. Plan to stop here after the museum. If you don't like heights, you may not want to climb to the top. If not, climb up and get a wonderful view of the area. Fun for all ages!
