If you are not going for a salad as exactly printed on the menu, forget it. We were six people and not one of us was happy with the meal.

We are Cheesecake Factory fans and are continually adding to our list of locations visited. Strange hobby. Anyway, we recenly had the opportunity to visit this location. What continually amazes us about Cheesecake Factory is the tremendous variation in preparation of dishes from location to location, even though the menu items are the same. We have started to rate our Cheesecake Factory experiences based largely on the quality of preparation.

While we did experience great service at this location, we rank the food preparation a C- by Cheesecake Factory standards. We ordered the Jamaican Black Pepper Shrimp, and it was completely unlike the same dish at any other location...it appears they forgot the "Black Pepper" part in the sauce. What is normally a spicy dish was bland. Except for the desserts which are probably made in a central location, every other part of what we ordered was subpar compared to other locations. So far, the Salt Lake City Cheesecake Factory ranks as the # 1 location for food quality (of the 25+ locations we have visited). This location ranks in the bottom 25%, though Chicago still is at the bottom of our list.

At cheesecake factory, you always know you will get consistently good food and huge portions- from their wonderful loaf style oatmeal crusted bread, to huge salads ( oriental chicken), sandwiches (I love the portobello sandwich, or crabcake sandwich), appetizers (thai lettuce wraps, mini burgers), main courses ( salmon, pasta, crabcakes, pizza, burgers), drinks,(fruity unsweetened iced tea, coffees) and high caloric desserts ( every kind of cheesecake imaginable- especially great if you are looking to have a quadruple bypass !).

As always, lots of choices and cheerful service. I like the food here but it hard to choose something healthy.

This was our second visit to this Cheesecake Factory. All four dinners we ordered were excellent! Consistent quality makes for a guaranteed great meal.

However, the ambiance in this restaurant leaves much to be desired. The noise level is so high as to make it difficult to hold a conversation. On our second visit we were seated at a table for two in the West dining room. The tables are small, barely adequate for two guests. Without the partitions you would get with a booth the noise is so bad as to lessen the enjoyment from the meal. If you are unfortunate enough to be seated next to a loud person as we were, you will hear every word of their conversation to the detriment of yours. Plus, and this is admittedly gross, the tables are so close together in this dining room that when the server bends to serve the neighboring table you get a faceful of tush just inches from your head. Yes, really.

We will return in the future because the food is wonderful. However, we will henceforth always wait for a booth, regardless of how long the wait, in order to reduce the decibel level and avoid the servers' rear ends.
