Majestic Beach Towers

The Condo was very clean. The staff workers were great. The management staff was very overwhelmed and not experienced in operating the Conference Rooms and keeping the familes happy too. The elevators took forever, there were 3 elevators for 20 some floors. My family spoke with other familes and for the past three years it was great but after this year will not return, said it was great before the conference center opened.

We just got back from a week at Majestic Towers and it was the by far the best condo we have ever stayed in. We rented unit 1904 (3 bedroom) and it was excellent! Very nicely decorated, very clean, probably go back to it next year. As for the complex it was very clean, parking across street with air conditioned walkway was nice. The drawbacks, pools were fairly cold (but we spent each day on the beach so no big deal for us), could use a couple more elevators, and if you want a cart to transport your things seems noone paid attention to the fact you were supposed to return the carts to the ground floor when done. I had to check several floors to find one when we left. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.

Condo / Room for itself was very clean and the resort itself is very clean. This is the only good thing to say. The staff workers are great. The management staff you would think was operating an extended stay or weekly home rental motel if you can read between the lines. They are not staffed to operate the Conference facility. They are overwhelmed by this. The elevators take to long. It will take a minimum of one hour to get your luggage from your car to your room. As my family conversed with other long term guest for the past three years. Non of them said that they would return. All said it was great before the conference center opened.

We stayed July 5-13th: Overall a positive experince, here are the positives and negatives and/or observations. We attended a baseball tournament: ROOM 311- TOWER 1 $200/night for 2bdr(plus tax). 1 night deposit due at booking.
CHECK-IN- Due to a fire in the condos before we arrived, check in was slowed down due to accomadating tenants to other properties. One coach on our team had to go to a sister property down the street. He booked a 3 bdr, but only got a 2bdr. He returned the next day and stayed in a 2 bdr for the rest of his stay.Overall, checkin was not problem.Parking area was small in front, accomodating about 10 cars. We checked in at 3:45.No carts were available. Our rooms were on the 3rd floor, so as the adults unloaded the car, the children took the stuff up to the rooms via elavators. Oh, forgot, they make you prepay for the entire stay when you check in, along with the $70 cleaning fee.
ELAVATORS: Very slow, especially the elevators next to the indoor pool in Tower 1. Normal elavators, wet floors due to pool traffic. Wait not as long if taken late at night.
PARKING: There is a 5-6 story parking garage across the street. You must have a parking tag displayed in the dashboard. Security at night will check to see if it is displayed. No parking on the 3rd floor, they are reserved for owners. Each night I parked on the 4th floor and took the stairs down to the3rd floor. The 3rd level is where you walk to your Towers. Go to the left for Tower2 and to the right for Tower 1. Walk was not bad. Walkway goes over the street. There is a small loading area and handicap parking at the 3rd floor. This is where we loaded up the car after we checked out.
TRAFFIC AROUND HOTEL: Horrible!!! Full of younger kids blaring their horns and testing their bass on their stereos, especially at night.Typical young kids lining the businesses along the streets. In between the major condos and hotels are souvenir shops, bars, tattoo joints, convenience stores and bargain hotels. Learn to go down side streets and avoid the major streets.
WALMART- Due to the week long stay, EVERYBODY seemed to be at Walmart. DO NOT GO after you check in. Lines are 8-10 deep with everyone stocking up for the week. Either go early in the morning or late at night. Prices were about the same as any Walmart.. Note: They tend to wax floors at night, so some aisles were shut off.
CONDO: Overall very clean. There were no washcloths, but on each floor there were laundry carts, so we helped ourselves to some. There is no daily service unless you made prior arrangements for a fee. Everyone will pay a $70 cleaning fee. Styles of rooms vary along with amenties. All rooms have a gulf -front view which stayed shaded all day. Our room had all updated appliances and with a large plasma TV, VCR and DVD player. Condo renters are given a card to check out DVDs for free(1 at a time). Both bedrooms had basic cable along with HBO. Block HBO in kids rooms if needed by remote. Only problem was a slow draining tub when we took showers. Bedrooms faced common walk areas and horns could be heard being on a low floor. If you are a light sleeper, get a higher floor.
SECURITY- Seemed always visible and walking around the complex. They will ask you to not hang personal belongings over your rail. They seem to always be on the lookout for kids throwing objects over the balcony. Front desk issued pool bracelets which was supposed to be worn when in the pools, but I only saw 1 child with it on. Security did not enforce the wearing of these bracelets. They stayed on the kitchen counter the entire time. $5 fee if lost.. Overall, we felt safe walking around at any time.
POOLS- We stayed at Tower 1. Both the indoor and outdoor pools were small and crowded, especially the outdoor pool. Indoor pool was located about 50 feet from the pool outside with bathrooms next to it. Plenty of pool chairs, but do not expect a quiet place by yourselves.
BEACH RENTALS- Padded lounge chairs can be rented daily/weekly. $100 for the week/ $20 day. They will come and move the umbrella for you to keep you shaded. Very courteous. If you are planning any beach activities(parasails, jetskis, etc), go to the front desk and ask for the coupon book which will save some dollars. Some of the kids did the banana boat rides($20), but depending on the time of day, length of rides and wait times varied greatly. When beach is crowded, wait times increased.
BEACH: Ample room to strech out, in front of Tower 1 there was a volleyball court set up. Plent of room to throw frisbee, footballs etc. Only downside was one of the coaches kids got cut on a broken bottle on shore leading to 5 stitches in ER. Other than that , there was a lot of seeweed that week.. No lifeguards on duty with an occasional beach patrol were visible.
CHECKOUT- Before you check out , go to the 3rd floor loading area located between the walkway and garage. That is where you may get a cart. There were 3 there when I went. Check out time is 10a.m. No lines.
Overall, a positve experience and if i do return to the area, we will stay there again. Best tip would be is to try and get a low floor, preferably on 3. The walkway from the garage attaches to the 3rd floor, therefore we never used a elavator to get our room.
Plenty of nice places to eat. Pier Park which is an outdoor mall located 10 minutes west of the hotel was nice. Ebro greyhound track/poker room which was about a 30 minutes drive was small but turned out to be an enjoyable. Kids are allowed there also. Gas prices were cheaper the further you got away from the beach area. Safe travels!!!!!!!

The towers are clean and the condo we stayed in was really nice with value pricing.

The big downer here was the wireless internet. While it was free it did not work well at all. On and off the entire time we were here. I am not sure what the problem was but may very well make me look elsewhere next trip.

If this is not an issue for you then it is a good stay.

I'm a long term renter so I've seen all seasons. Summer vacation season is very busy. You will wait for an elevator. You won't find a luggage cart. You won't find a parking space to unload or load your car. Be prepared to walk a very long distance from your unit to your car. The walkover is air conditioned and carpeted and you can watch the traffic go under you but it is a long walk. Elevators are slow. The one truly outdoor pool is not large enough and you will have trouble finding a chair. When you do find a chair you will be almost touching the person next to you. It's really packed! The indoor pools are great for rainy days or when you've had enough sun. Hot tubs are good size. There is a great sun deck for sunbathing away from the pool if you like quiet and no crowd. The place is well maintained on a daily basis (no trash, public bathrooms clean, lobby nice) but the outside walls and floors near elevators are nasty and need painting and cleaning. The units are spacious and all appliances are new. It's great if you want to stay in for some meals. The beach area in front of the condo is almost perfect. It's a public beach so the staff doesn't go there. People leave tons of trash and litter on the sand because they just do but someone gets it before the next day starts. Four wheelers driven by beach workers (the chair rental people), sand raker trucks, trash trucks, etc. drive way too fast on the sand. An accident waiting to happen. Security is good. They are constantly walking the property inside and out. People like to throw things from the top floors like water, juice, ice, etc. and security stops it quickly. The most recent mistake is they removed the gates that allowed you to walk from Tower II to the outside pool which is at Tower I.and replaced the gates with a fence. It's like you can't get there from here. If you are staying in Tower II you will need to walk through the front parking lot in your swimsuit carrying all your floaties, etc then through the Tower I lobby then down a hallway just to get to the pool. People are complaining about that. I've given you an honest opinion of what a vacation is like here. There could be some improvements but Majestic is by far the place I will call home as long as I can. The location is excellent. You are definitely going to Wal-mart and it is a block away. There's tons of stuff to do without having to drive very far and they are working on a shuttle you can jump on at the door which will take you straight down Front Beach Rd. all the way to the new Pier Park shopping experience. There are pools, hot tubs, a bar, a store with Starbucks, movie theatre, fitness center, tennis court and a grill by the pool for lunch. All the balconies are private (next door neighbors can't see you) and in the shade most all day. Sunsets are magnificent. You wil absolutely enjoy yourself. Majestic is a place for families, children, couples and seniors. You can't beat it...really.

My husband and I stayed at the Majestic for our honeymoon July 2-5. The condos are extremely nice with a great view! We didn't have any problems with checking in or with our rooms. The two major problems were the noise at night and there are not enough elevators for the property. Another issue is that we actually saw a family change clothes in front of us on the beach! Since we are mid 20's it was okay, but I would not recommend for a family vacation with small children or elders in tow.
