We dined at Diego's this evening for dinner as part of the "tour of food" of our 2014 family vacation.
On first glance, Diego's looks like a hole in the wall. As any "foodie" knows, though... the curb appeal has no bearing, or sometimes an inverse bearing, on the quality of the food. Outside seating is limited, but inside seating is ample.
Staff awaits you at the front order/register area. The menu is limited, but that isn't a bad thing at a place like this --- stick to what you're good at which, in my opinion, is the El Pastor on the food side (pork with grilled pineapple) and the house margarita on the bar side ($16 for a pitcher that serves ~3-4 people, and tastes delicious).
The time to get your food is minimal, as is the case with most Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants. The real plus side here is Value... the pricing was minimal compared to what I'd theoretically pay for the same dish.
Will I be back? Maybe... not sure if it will be this week, since there are other places we want to try. But on a return trip, given its convenient location, you can bet we'll make a second appearance.
