A good way to spend an evening or afternoon, all day. We visited several of the restaurants, movie theater, ice cream shops and walked the pier....always something going on there.

We spent a few hours fishing off the pier. The cost is very affordable...$6 for all day and they let you come and go as you please. They have bait available for purchase but it's cheaper to get it at Wal-Mart before you go to the pier. The pier is long and there is plenty of room. It is very clean. There were all kinds of fish and baitfish being caught on the pier. We were able to catch cigar minnows which we used for bait the next day on a charter trip. There are a few benches that you can sit on or you can take your own chair. This is a great place for the serious pier fishermen and the novice pier fisherman or just a great place to sit and read and catch some sun.

We walked along the pier and were able to take some great pictures. One fisherman had caught a sting ray and it was cool to see. They have food dispensers where you can purchase food to feed the fish, which my daughter loved.

Favorite part of my vacation is spending every morning out of the pier wondering what will bite my bait next. The pier is well kept and cleaned daily. See tons of dolphins(wish they wouldnt eat my bait). Caught many spanish off of it along with a blue tuna( which is rare I guess). Water is nice and clean and can see many fish swimming around.Cant wait to get back out there this year.

The charge to walk the pier is $2 and worth the fee. Parking in the lot is free. If you want to rent fishing gear it costs $12 for 6 hours which I don't think is too bad. What's nice is that you do not need a license to fish off the pier. The pier is very clean and has benches to use while admiring the fantastic view or to watch the fabulious sunset. I understand this is one of the longest piers on the Gulf. You can see miles of beach and water! What a cheap activity for an early evening.
