“Next trip to Panama City we will look for a different hotel...”
Reviewed September 13, 2010

This hotel was very nice inside and we loved that we had a full size kitchen and they had outdoor grills that we could use. The grilling area by the pool does not have any lighting though so if you will be cooking after the sun goes down be prepared with some flash lights or something. Our room was clean and we had plenty of space for all 6 of us in the 2 bedroom villa.

Not right on the beach like they try to make it seem. They said you could just walk next door to the Bay Point Marriott and down the boardwalk to the beach...
Well there is a very small beach that is NOT swimmable and you can't really lay on the beach there either due to all the critters and bugs crawling everywhere. It wasn't really worth the long walk down the boardwalk. I was picturing a typical private hotel beach that has chairs and umbrellas for your use...boy was I shocked when all I saw was crabs and grass.

You have to have your own transportatoin if you want to get to the main strip of restraunts and beaches. Not a great location for sure. Expensive considering that it is not right on the beach.

I loved this resort , It was only two of us traveling but we had two bedrooms and two pull out couches . We paid what we would of paid at a local hotel so we just enjoyed the extra room. I never was able to find the flea market but traveled to destin and shopped at the outlets . everyone was very helpful and even though it was spring break we had no problem with noise. I plan to return with another couple in the future. Everything was new and clean.

After visiting the Marriotts resorts at Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and West Palm Beech. this resort is very disappointing. The resort is the size of a postage stamp. A car is a must and airport travell to get here is difficult. Unless you drive 3 to 4 hours from Jacksonville. No shuttle service to anywhere but the Marriott next door offers it. The Marriott next door offers night life, a board walk, numerous poolsand hot tubs, indoor pool, arcade, spa, beach access, bar, restaurant, tennis, golf (need I go on?) Vacation Club members are not allowed there. We drive thru the hotel to get to Legends End.

We stayed in the time share. Our building was just redone from top to bottom. Very clean and comfortable. Activities abundant and staff very friendly. Beautiful pool and hot tubs.

We stayed at Marriott’s Legends Edge from February 7 to 14 thru Interval International.
The staff was so extremely helpful and the resort was excellent.
It has 2 towers. First tower (the one that we stayed at) was completely remodeled. Second one is still under renovation.
What can I say? Our 2-bedroom villa was so beautiful. It looks like everything in the room was new. I love the decor. It was really nice to come back to this room after exploring the Panama City area.

This was our first visit to Panama City. Stayed for a one week trip. We went with several other couples. Golf was the focus for the guys and us gals kept busy exploring and enjoying Panama City. We knew we took a chance by visiting in November but the gamble paid off as the weather was beautiful. We had 3 couples in the 2 bedroom unit which meant one couple slept in the livingroom on the sleeper sofa. The sleeper sofa was very uncomfortable. When we called customer relations to inquire for some sort of topper to put on the mattress they told us they did not have anything. They suggested since no one was using the sofa sleeper in the 2nd bedroom to take the mattress off that sofa sleeper and put it on top of the one in the livingroom. This did help but it still did not provide a comfortable nights sleep. One couple actually got a room at the adjacent Marriott hotel to insure they did not have to sleep on the sofa sleeper. This would be my suggestion if you need an extra bed but do not want another 2-bedroom unit. They were just a short walk away so was not a problem. Kids are resiliant and would probably not have a problem sleeping on the sofa sleeper.
Other than this one obstacle we really enjoyed our stay. We stayed on Marriott points. Housekeeping came in daily and made the beds, exchanged towels and tidied up. Mid week one couple was leaving and another couple arriving. Housekeeping was great about changing the sheets and preparing the 2nd bedroom for our new arrivals.
The hubbys really enjoyed the golf. The rates were reasonable as it was off season. Two golf courses are located on this property and they played both in addition to other courses in the area.
While at the Marriott we ate at two of their restaurants. The Kingfish at the main hotel. We had lunch their and everyone enjoyed their selections. One night none of us were very hungry so we decided to walk across the street to 30 degree blue which is basicly bar food. It was a Thursday night and happened to be Karoke night. The DJ has a following so the place was very busy with his regulars. The talent there was unbelivable and there was not one bad singer. We ended up having the best time dancing and enjoying the hospitality. It was a very unexpected fun night.
Other highlights of our trip were:
Watching the sunset from the beach. St. Andrews State Park. Pier Park shopping and lunch at Margarittaville which is located there and overlooks the gulf. (Guys met us there after their golf and our shopping) Visited the Seaside area. Earlier poster mentioned bicycling in that area from Rosemary beach to Seaside. We did not do that but I would like to do that on a future trip. Good Restaurants: Captain Andersons. Saltwater Grill. Boatyard. We also went to Historical St Andrews Bay area and had lunch at Uncle Ernies. Our one and only bad meal was at Sharkey's. It was horrible. If you want to eat on the beach there are lots of choices that are much better. Schooners is one we tried and enjoyed. Also went to Pineapple Willy's. We only had drinks and nachos there so cannot comment on their food. We enjoyed the beach and ocean views.
Panama City was a fun off season trip for us. We may repeat it and if we do all agreed we will return to the Marriott Legends Edge at Bay Point.

Stayed there for a week with 5 year old and inlaws. Comfortable 2 br 2 ba villa, but furniture is old and somewhat soiled. The carpets were so dirty that our feet would be black if we did not wear shoes. I found mold all over my shower curtain. I did not know ahead of time that there would be no daily service of any kind if I was exchanging, versus a paying guest. Also found the bed to be very uncomfortable. The resort itself is well located, though not on the beach, but convenient to everything. Really nice pools, especially for kids. Other amenities available next door at the other Marriot resort, such as bars, restaurants, etc. If they refurbished this place and added a pool-side bar and sandwiches, they would have a gold mine.
