“Terrible elevator....”
Reviewed April 8, 2012

The elevator situation is enough for our family to NEVER stay at this resort again. We were on the third floor and took the steps most of the time. You just cant get an elevator, when one does come so many people are waiting you cant get on. The parking garage was very inconvient. you need to get to the 2nd floor to take the skyway over the road then get in another elevator or steps to get to your floor. Not fun carring luggage or groceries. We had a no luck getting a luggage cart, seemed to be a problem with many people. Beach was beautiful, bring your own beach chairs, so you dont have to rent theirs. Grocery store was close. Traffic on Front Beach Road was very heavy and took us quite a while to go anywhere.

Room Tip: single bedroom units with the bunk beds are small. When the couch is pulled out for a sleeper it is...

I would not stay here again if it was free. Loud teens, slow elevator and the dirtiest room I have encountered in my vast travels! Countless residue stains of sorts abound. The only suitable thing for this place other than destruction would be a Wes Craven beach flick!!! Ghastly! Stay away!

Our room was absolutely disgusting! Stains in every room with carpet. One stain had to be vomit! I will be speaking with management about getting cleaning fee back! If they don't it will be robbery!! Because it is a joke to say someone cleaned this room. I know these condos get alot of wear and tear but you can shampoo carpet at least. And my family and I have stayed in condos for years but never been in one so nasty! And that vomit stain by the bed is very recent and still brown! Stains on couches pillows sheets etc!! There wasn't any dishwashing liquid, normally there will be one small starter liquid. Main balcony door wouldn't even open! And the whole chair lineup is a joke!! We have small kids and even for myself and spouse we don't smoke and therefore I don't want to smell someone's else nasty smoke. And they have you so shoved up on one another there isn't even one foot between your chairs and other people's chairs!! And I failed to mention the 5 blood stains on the comforter that my 2 yr old laid on before I spotted it and then threw comforter in floor and showered my child afterwards!! Absolutely no
Excuse for that! The comforters should be laundered too!! Be advised the other people aren't making these negative comments up!!! We only stayed 3 nights if I had booked this for longer I wouldn't have stayed!! And elevators are ridiculous waiting 15 minutes for
A ride!!! And you may ask why I stayed at all but when you can't get in until late and then no one is at the desk you are stuck especially when traveling with small
kids!! And we were told that someone manned the desk at all times but they don't! My family and beautiful beaches and great food made the trip
Great but tidewater did not!

If you want a Relaxing beach vacation, do not go to this condo. There is no help here upon arrival and its Chaotic - if there were a fire, good luck getting the people down the nasty, smelly, stairwells. Feels lime a bad cruise ship experience Also, people randomly accused friends which became a ridiculous scene. Will NEVER come here again. Oh, by the way, we are professionals... And Families with involved parents here on Spring break...the fact that an accusation could occurr without evidence was enough to feel like a scene out of Deliverence. Will never visit this place again.
Plus, people smoke here and its suppsed ro be smke free

Overall, I'd have to say that Tidewater wasn't for us (my husband & I). We complained about one thing or another the entire trip. It is a bit tricky to review a property because condos are independently owned & is not run like a resort/hotel. I will tell yall what I think & you can choose to take it with a grain of salt or seriously. Let's start with the positives: it's SUPER quiet & in such a beautiful area of PCB. Very calm & relaxing. We went for our honeymoon so it was perfect. Also the time of year we went was a perfect time to visit. We went the week before school let out so that part of the beach & the resort itself was pretty dead. The beach itself, water & sand that was directly in front of Tidewater was perfect. The negatives: you had to wear a wrist band that way you can go all over the property & they are aggravating. Also, they are EXTREMELY strict. They impose a curfew. It's called 'quiet time' but we call it curfew. You could not smoke on the balcony or even in the parking garage. That's ridiculous! I understand how touchy people are about smoking, but come on! Also, any kind of electric car/moped, etc is not allowed on the property. Even in the parking garage. I was pulled up front where the drop off is & my husband ran up quickly to get something & the security guard told me that those vehicles were not allowed on the property. That's stupid! What if we had a rental for the entire day, where were we to park it? Also, the bed broke the 1st day we were there & Southern Resorts came way later into the NEXT day to replace it & the internet was extremely hard to get online. We felt incredibly unsafe at nights because our condo was very secluded off on it's own & only had a keypad, not a regular lock. It would be a good property if you have kiddos.

We stayed here March 9th - 14th during Spring Break. I requested floors 6 - 10 because
my daughter isn't a huge fan of elevators. We loved our rooms and the balcony view of
the ocean was just plain awesome. The staff was really helfpful and the resort has just about
anything you need. The only complaints would be that you do have to park across the street
in a parking garage. If you don't get on the second floor of the garage you will have to travel
on an elevator to second floor and then walk a few hundred yards to the hotel and then travel again on your elevator to your floor. With 30 floors of rooms the elevators can be challenging especially when loading and unloading your luggage to and from your vehicle. The other major complaint would be the horrible roaring noise that comes from the elevator shafts. If you're a couple rooms from the elevators you'll hear this annoying noise sounding
like someone rolling on roller skates across the ceiling of your bedroom. This goes on allnight until the guest are settled and the elevators are not be used that often. It took a good three nights to get used to that noise. Overall the walls are a little thin and was probably the loudest condo i've ever stayed at. Keep in mind it was College Spring Break
and the noise was excessive. So if your a light sleeper you might think twice about staying
on a lower floor near elevators. I did talk to a couple on the top floor and they didn't hear
the noise, but several other guest had made comments about the same noise. Must be a design flaw. We did have a 80 dollar cleaning fee for the 4 night, but i was prepared for this.

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms next to the elevators.
