“Nice Beach Front Condo's”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

Really Beachfront, not beachview. I loved the soft sugar sand, easy to walk on. The parking here and how to get back to your room is the most bizarre I have ever ever seen. However, it didn't take away from our visit. I agree the skybar was never open when I went by (4 x /day). It should be open 24/7 for people on vacation. Duh............Wyndham bought out RCI, that was news to me until we arrived. I agree with the suggestion to "unplug your phone as soon as you get to your room " that way no one bothers you. It worked for us.
We talked to a lady at Starbucks who was actually hiding from a salesperson, kept looking over her shoulder, she told us they wanted her to pay $30,000 to combine her three ownerships into one.......... she was a nervous wreck. Don't be in the same room as the salespeople!!!
When you have to get your parking pass, they try to make a reservation for a free lunch for you, HAVE OTHER PLANS! Its a sales pitch you can't get out of. I met people who said the salespeople were knocking on their doors!! Didn't happen to us. We were going to Pier Park and would call them later. Hint, hint.......

Room Tip: We asked for the hightest room before our visit. We were on the 14 th floor and it was all good

Stay in the presidential suite so you have the full living room and kitchen. The two bedrooms were large enough and clean decent sized bathrooms. The kitchen was modern with a nice table to have breakfast at before heading to the beach. The Sky bar never seemed to be open when we wanted it to be and unfortunately there's not much to eat at the bar by the pool. But there is a Target close by for snacks to keep on hand and decent restaurants in the area. And yes the elevators are slow as is the valet service. But the reception was pleasant when checking us in and the room was ready at the time promised. For what it was worth I think it was fine. Anticipate a spring break/southern type crowd but everyone in the hotel and area were great.

Room Tip: Choose the executive/presidential suites so you have windows overlooking the ocean. Lower floors for...

My husband and I stayed here the week of August 18 - 25th, 2012. We were in a 1 bedroom delux on the 2nd floor and we couldn't have been happier with our accommodations. The room was really, really clean, the bed was comfortable, the decor was nice and the furnings weren't old, dirty and outdated like you sometimes find with condo rentals. We loved that there were a table and chairs on the balcony as we spent a lot of time there. It's the perfect place for breakfast, watching the sunsets or the dolphins jumping or just relaxing. Being on the second floor, we never had issues with the elevators because we never used them. We just walked up and down the steps when we were coming and going. The property facilities we great. We made use of both pools and the fitness center. The beach was clean and quiet - just the way we like it. We had a small issue with the refrigerator but maintenance came within about 15 minutes to look at it and then someone followed up to be sure we were happy with the outcome. There is a little Italian restaurant right across the street called Salvatores. Do yourself a favor and have at least one meal there. We have 2 - pizza one night and pasta another and they were both absolutely delicious! Some of the best Italian I've ever had. The first two days of our stay it rained, literally, nonstop. Since we couldn't do outside activities we spent one day at Pier Park and another at Panama City Mall and enjoyed those outings. We will most definitely come back to Panama City again and I really don't see us staying anywhere else but here!

We arrived on August 25, 2012 around 2:30pm. We did not have to wait on a room at all and upon entering our 1 bedroom deluxe condo on the 8th floor we were ecstatic with the room and the view!!! The condo had everything we could have ever wanted. Plenty of dishes, kitchen appliances and gadgets. Our bedroom was small but comfortable and the bed was great. The bathroom was nothing spectacular but was clean and neat. Water pressure was not the best but really that was no big deal. We spent most of our time while we were inside on the patio overlooking the ocean. While there are tiki huts and bars by the pool, chairs and umbrellas you can rent at the beach, valets to park and retrieve your car and a sky bar inside the hotel with food, we enjoy parking our own car, having somewhere to do our laundry (towels included), fixing our own dinners and sweeping the floor if sand gets everywhere from the beach. Housekeeping will not bother you unless you need them for something and with a washer and dryer in our room we didn't need them at all. I would highly recommend this resort! Even with a hurricane coming we never felt unsafe and everyone kept us informed of anything we needed to know. We found a couple of new favorite restaurants one being Thomas' Doughnuts and the other Dusty's Oyster bar. Both were "hole in the wall" places but they always have the best food!!! Thomas' was homemade doughnuts and Dusty's the best fresh seafood at incredible prices ;-) Check PCB for yourself! We will definitely be going back!!!

My family have stayed here year after year and we have never been dissapointed. Yes, the elevators can be slow, the garage is across the street, the tiki hut closes early...but these are all small issues that really aren't that serious. The room is always clean, spacious, and the view is absolutely gorgeous. The room is equipped with everything you need - pool towels, pots, pans - all of the kitchenware, laundry detergent etc... My only complaint was that In the past we have left our umbrella, chairs, Tent etc...right outside the hotel and no one has ever touched it until this past summer :o) but hey - after 5 years, we were quite lucky that it didn't happen before. No real restaurant on the property but with all of the options in the area - I wouldn't even bother eating here if they had one.

Our family has stayed here for several trips to PCB. We have stayed at other PCB resorts and find this to be the cleanest and we love the design upgrades. Granite, extra seating in kitchen and living rooms, fast service from housekeeping and maintenance. We have checked in at all hours of the night and have never been at the desk for more than 20 minutes. It is a time share...if you don't want the runaround...don't take the free stuff. Just say no! Our children are 8, 11 and 12. They keep busy at both pools and the beach. We have stayed in all sizes and styles of rooms and the 1 bedroom with bunk beds and pull out is plenty big enough for 5. We wish there were restaurants and a spa on site. The work out room is decent and this past year the sky bar had karaoke and let families join the fun. It is missing some of the amenities of a 5 star ie kid services, etc. BUT the cost of chair rental, etc in front of the resort is reasonable compared to others. This resort is not in a college spring break area and we liked that. There are still some idiots anywhere you go in PCB during March & April though. Great shopping close by and an easier drive to all the favs. I would completely disagree with previous comments about the quality of the rooms. This resort always shoots for super clean! Time share presentation is what it is...don't go if you don't like the pressure. Only one bad comment I have is, my daughter left her ipod in the room and we realized 10 minutes down the road. Housekeeping had already been in the room and it was gone when we returned. Never saw it again.

Room Tip: Get a room above the 3rd floor

We had few of the issues previous posters complained about, in part because we followed some of their advice. There really isn't any way to avoid the "concierge" as that is where the registration desk agents send you to obtain your parking permit and facility access wristband. We simply told the young lady that we did not want to be bothered while on vacation, and we weren't. We also unplugged the phones once we got to our unit (1044), which was spacious and well appointed. My 20 year old pulled one of the mattresses off of a bunk bed in the hallway, as he was too tall to fit there, and moved it to the small bedroom where he and his 25 y.o. sister took turns sleeping in the "real" bed. We also had no problems checking in, getting a bell cart to leave, checking out, or getting an elevator when we needed one. I think a lot of this was due to timing...the crowd seemed down a bit since school had started in many states, we checked in at 5:30-ish and checked out around 6:45 a.m. on Saturdays, and didn't try to use the elevators during rush hour, which seems to be 10:00 a.m.

We didn't have any issues with street or partying noise on the tenth floor. Our unit had two bedrooms and bunk beds in the entry hallway. Our master bedroom had bay windows overlooking the gulf, and a large, adjoining master bath.

Weren't really fazed by the layout as many seemed to be. Once we got the lay of the land, it really wasn't a problem. We didn't try to fight the hoards trying to park on the third floor of the garage to be near the skywalk from the administration side to the beach side. In fact, we had great success entering the garage from the east (Emerald) side and finding parking slots on the first floor. Failed to find one only twice the whole week, and then only had to go about halfway up the ramp to find a spot, so it was really a wash.

Our two biggest issues were the size of the complex, which was too big for the amount of beach they had access to, and the cost of the beach service rental chairs and umbrella. Still, if you really want to go to Panama City Beach, you can do a lot worse than Wyndham.

Overall, a postive experience. Would recommend looking at one of the other beaches in the Florida panhandle than PCB, however. South Walton, Destin or Navarre are better.

Room Tip: Go ahead and splurge for the larger of the two unit choices (I forget what they're called at the...
