This is a largely forested park, near the Pinellas East trail and bordering Lake Tarpon. What a pleasure to just cruise slowly around the many paved roads looking for a place to stop, hike, picnic or play sports. The facilities are varied, well-maintained and blend into the forest habitats well. A few deer wander around the place at dusk and dawn, and there is at least one large gator that comes out a suns himself on a particular grassy shore. Parking is ample: so much so that we have attended two automobile shows that even had shade for us to park our jalopy. I can't really find any critical thing to say about the place, since it has brought a lot of solace, quiet walks and general good feelings to us over many years now.

Lots of deers and Gators to see here. Great shelters, very popular boat ramps, Good Latrines. New Boardwalks to observe nature from. Clean dog park divided for small and large canines.

We bike here from Lansbrook at least one Sunday per month to check out what's new in the wildlife scene. We are never disappointed. Check out the pier and observation tower and the raised boardwalk walking trails through old Florida.

We live in the area and visit frequently. Just before dusk you will see not a deer or two, but a herd of about 20, feeding on the grass in the first open field to your right when you come in. That is also where we park to load/unload the bikes to ride Pinellas Trail East. It runs along the west side of East Lake Rd., starting just outside the park entrance - about a nine mile bike path that goes north to Keystone Road. There is a 7-11 at midpoint for refreshments. We have also attended many Geocaching events here; there is ample parking and restrooms.
