“Doesn't live up to tripadvisor rating”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 24, 2013 via mobile

Generally satisfied with top tripadvisor recommendations. Not this time. The #2 restaurant in Palm Harbor was quite a dissapointment. Slow service and mediocre, overpriced food were the hallmarks. Could have been so much more. Even the wood fired brick oven pizza was weak. Crust too thick. Pasta dishes were one note and lacked interest and delicacy. The waiter dropped the lid to the martini shaker on the floor and then proceeded to pick it up and put it on the shaker! I had to tell him to remake it and he seemed suprised about that. Once our lackluster dinner was over, we had to wait quite some time for our check.

“A really good Italian restaurant, a gem in Palm Harbor”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

Went here with a group of friends and have to say this was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in some time. Everyone in the group enjoyed the delicious food. My wife and I had the veal piccata which came with a nice fresh salad and their house balsamic dressing which was light and delightful. A basket of fresh bread came with the salad with dipping oil. The meal itself came with a nice portion of veal and with angel hair pasta topped with the picatta sauce. This was just a wonderful meal. Everything was fresh and prepared perfectly. We will definitely be going back to try some of the other meals on their menu. They have a full bar and there is plenty of parking. Reservations should be considered as this is a very popular place.

“Nice for casual and tasty lunch.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2013

It had been years since we went to Positano's and before only for dinner. This time we went for lunch and enjoyed some good pasta specials (around $10.00) for our lunch which included a salad. I chose the Penne Vodka which was a large portion, my husband had Alfredo with Scallops which while tasty had only two scallops. My portion allowed for a nice take home for later where my husband's didn't. I recommend for a nice setting, quiet lunch.

“FRESH FRESH FRESH INGREDIENTS”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

What a hidden gem in the off beaten path of Palm Harbor. The restaurant is small, yet accommodating and light/charming. A very cozy bar sits to the right of the entrance where it is impossible not to engage in conversation.
We began with spinach egg drop soup, delightfully lightly seasoned. We followed with the Positano house salad - romaine, toasted almonds - dried cranberries - red onion - tomato -feta cheese and drizzled with a delicate homemade balsalmic vinegarette. The fresh warm bread with an infused olive oil gave way to enhancing the palate.
We moved to the Seafood Pescaro with fresh seafood shrimp, clams, scallops, mussels, basa filet with fresh basil, garlic, shallots, roma tomatoes and a wonderful lemon white wine sauce for a perfectly balanced dish.
We succumbed to the temptation of desert, and shared cheese cake (light and airy), and a medley of Italian Gelato. The owner/chef is from Philadelphia.
