La Piazza was our "special occasion" restaurant but after our last visit I'm not sure we'll go back there. It is pricier than other places but the food is superb and the wine list is excellent (they only serve beer and wine, no liquor). We went for my birthday last week and the food was excellent as usual, and our waiter was great. However, the rest of the staff (including the owner) basically ignored us or muttered monosyllabic responses. We had a reservation but they seemed more interested in "bigger" tables (in fact some of the servers were 'discussing' who would get the bigger tables in loud voices), put us in a crappy location and then moved furniture around us while we were eating, like we were an imposition. It has tainted what was a lovely restaurant experience but you can definitely get a warmer welcome for the same money (or less) elsewhere.
