“Great Deal”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

I actually travelled and stayed here in Feb of 2012...

When I was searching for places to stay in the area I got lucky to find the Palm Coast Resort was offering a special promotion of $99 a night as the property had recently changed hands and renovations were ongoing. The bedrooms are wonderful and warmly decorated! Two bathrooms and kitchen and laundry facilities made the stay very comfortable and convenient. I like the older look of the outside of the buildings my self - while I was there I saw that several unite were getting new roofs installed. Some of the other negative comments must be from rather snobby people. Dont know how anyone could complain about the accommodations here.

My only complaint if there was one - because this property is a time share I had to sit through a sales pitch trying to get me to buy into the property. I politely listened to the sales pitch even though I am in no position to make such a purchase. The salesman also made derogatory comments about Europeans as part of his presentation which I felt was rude. In any case it was only 20 minutes of my stay...

loved the spacious accommodations and privacy. the trail along the intracoastal was also an enjoyable ammenity. loved the screened in balconies and enjoyed sleeping with the doors and windows open!

I did look at the property again for this year but I found that their prices had returned to normal - $250 a night I believe, which I can not justify paying as a single traveller in any location...

Very charming resort in a beautiful part of Florida. 2 Bedroom Condos were spacious, full kitchen with all dishware, pots, pans everything included! Handy to have in room dishwasher and washer and dryer. Jacuzzi Tub in King room with walk-in shower was a nice touch too! Beds comfy, easy to use air conditioning, not to mention the grounds were beautiful! Pool was nice, little bit chilly and some noticable green gunk on the bottom of the pool, but you can't be too fussy when 4 Canadian college students only paid $289 for the week! One downer, no free Wi-Fi in rooms.

We liked the layout of the accommodations we were only two adults but the 2 bedroom we could really spread our very clean rooms! The front desk staff was very helpful! Just wish they would consider a small pet ! Very comfortable beds! Big garden tub! It is older but seems kept up!

We 4 adults were very comfortable in the large airy unit. We appreciated washer/dryer, screened porch, dish washer and gorgeous master bath with large jacuzzi tub. The view out the back porch was lovely--a little stream and fountain, and nice trees. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub in the evening under the stars. The pool was a good temp for swimming and clean & refreshing.
We loved the bike trail which starts right at the resort, follows the intercoastal water way, then winds around a very interesting swamp area with lush vegetation and cool boardwalks over the swamp to ride along! ( keep your eyes peeled for alligators! )The whole route from Legacy out through the swamp and back was an easy, breezy 13 miles on flat ground that took 2 1/2 hours. We rented bikes from the marina at the resort.
The front desk staff were very helpful and good to us. They delivered supplies to us immediately after I called--things like more laundry detergent, paper towels. They even delivered coffee to us every morning free as a courtesy when I called.Hammock Beach is "untamed" and only 10 mins. away at most.
Saint Augustine was very close and we easily drove back and forth for sight seeing & dinner at great restaurants. Our favorites were Moorish Spanish Restaurant 95 Cordova, Columbia Spanish restaurant, sophisticated Tasting Room with live music & best food, Really FUN Conch House on the water, and SaltWater Cowboys which is uniquely Floridian!!
The resort is very quiet. We felt like we were the only ones there , but it was sold out Christmas week--when we were there. I guess people don't really hang out at the resort, but use it as a place to go out from.

Room Tip: all the units are exactly the same. All have similar views of water fountains, stream and trees out...

We booked our stay at the Legacy via Hotwire, so we weren't able to read reviews of the place beforehand. We were quite satisfied with Legacy, but not overwhelmed. The resort itself is old, and that's both good and bad. It's good because it means the condos are larger and cheaper. It's bad because it feels like you've arrived in 1985. The outside of the buildings is stucco, and seems out of date. However, you can see the insides have been updated with nice contemporary furnishings and paint. It was very clean, and well-stocked with towels, shampoos, and other necessities you'd find in a nice hotel. Behind our condo was a nice little pond with a fountain and big fish.

Here are my gripes about Legacy Vacation Resort:
Check in is between 4 and 7 pm only. We arrived at 7:15pm and had to check in using a phone next to the closed office. Also, the person who checked us in on that outside office phone didn't input my credit card correctly, so check out took 30 minutes.
The condos have 2 air conditioning units, one for the bedrooms and one for the living/kitchen area. The bedroom one broke, and they offered to either give us another condo or "divert the air into the bedrooms." We opted for the easier plan, which was for them to do the quick fix. It didn't work, so we suffered through sleeping in warm bedrooms.
The pool water was clean, but the bottom of the deep end looked scummy, as if the pool cleaner couldn't reach the bottom, so he didn't clean it. Yuck.

Now for the good points:
The pool and hot tub were OK. There was a nice waterfall at the pool, and the hot tub was REALLY hot. We visited in the off-season, so there were very few people at the resort, and even fewer people in the pool.
The fitness center is small, but the machines seem fairly new.
The location is pretty close to everything in the small town of Palm Coast. There's a beach nearby and the usual stretch of fast food, casual restaurants and other stores.

I might stay here again, and would recommend it for anyone looking for a bargain. On Hotwire, we actually paid the same as we would for a hotel room! The lady at the check out desk said they would match any price the other travel sites give you.

Room Tip: Get a good price by going in the off-season, make sure you check in before 7pm and that they have th...

We spent 2 nights here on an rci exchange and found the property adequate to our needs. The rooms are huge and all have a washer-dryer fridge microwave and even jacuzzi bath. However, the property is ageing and needs a little updating. With a little tlc this could be an exceptional place to vacation. Worth a visit but perhaps not as a high a standard as you could get elsewhere.

Stayed here with my husband and grandparents from 0825/2012-09/02/2012. Awesome stay!
The condo was very clean! The living room/dining room was very open and spacious! We cooked majority of our meals in the kitchen, what a money saver! Love the screened in porch, was extra roomy!
Palm Coast was close to all the local cities, perfect place to be kept away and not in the craziness of daytona or st augustine. The employees were great, always giving directions/ideas/recommendations on things to do around the area!
Amenities were more than enough. LOVED the pool! Not over crowded either! Liked how the pool table/game room was right next to the pool so the guys could go back and forth while the girls stayed at the pool. My only complaint was no ceiling fan in the "guest bedroom"...there was no air circulation so it was very HOTT at night for us!
Would definitely stay here again!
