“AWESOME RESORT...BUT”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

Beautiful place with extra super nice staff, the grounds were great, the hotel lobby was immaculate and the one bedroom was top notch with excellent views of the grounds, the pool, and the ocean. The only issue we had was with the fact that the heating and the cooling unit was actually in one of the closets in the bedroom about 2 ft. away from the bed, and at night it was very difficult for us to sleep with the constant humming noise and the "ding" every time the unit kicked on. The next day, the front desk concierge and the manager we very nice in accommodating our request and moving us to a two bedroom villa.
This place is great, our recommendation is to stay away from the one bedroom villa if you are sensitive to noise.

Room Tip: Book a two bedroom if you are sensitive to noise

What a great Resort. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.. The room was beautiful with a lovely view of the pool. It was clean and quite luxurious. The restaurant was very good. Service was great. The pool area was huge with a slide and lazy river. Next time, we'll stay longer.

This was our second trip to Hammock Beach Resort in October. We found the resort by trying out a Groupon and we've never been so pleasantly surprised by a destination before! Our group included my husband and myself, our five year old and nine month old sons, my parents, brother, and his fiance. A very diverse crew and there is something for everyone. If you're traveling with children, this is the place to be. There is a fantastic water slide, lazy river, zero-entry beach pool with sand, fantasy pool with waterfall and zero-entry area, beach volleyball court, miniature gold course, adult-only pool, terrace pool, and huge hot tub. We used the fitness center, which was surprisingly well-appointed for a hotel gym. The grounds are always spotless and I swear there was more staff than guests and they're always ready to please. From what we gather, it's a weekend vacation destination for mostly Florida residents, so when we visit in early October we practically have the resort to ourselves during the week.

We once again booked a three-bedroom, 3 1/2 bath suite in the Ocean Towers (newer- the main tower rooms aren't as updated). The room is stunning with in-unit laundry, three spacious bedrooms each with its own bath, and top-of-the-line kitchen with granite counter tops, viking range, soft-close cabinet doors, and sub-zero fridge. My parents have stayed in some of the best rooms in the best resorts in the world, and they were impressed. There is in-unit laundry and flat-screen TV's in each room as well (70-inch in the living area). Our unit was an end (room 844) on the top floor with a wrap-around balcony and outdoor eating area. Our ONLY complaint is that the air conditioning units on the adjacent building made a LOT of noise.

Not all restaurants are open during the week during the fall. We visited our favorite, Delfino's, twice; Thursday and Saturday nights. The pool bar/cafe has excellent food (pool/ lunch fare) that comes quickly and to order whether at the restaurant or poolside.

To be honest, we did not spend much time at the beach due to the age of our kids. However, the beach is stunning. It's not super-soft sand, but it's incredibly clean and you can walk for days. The biggest hit was the lazy river. Other reviewers were annoyed by the water features, but they're only on one side of the river, and I was easily able to navigate through with my infant son with him getting very minimally wet. The two of us logged a lot of time on that river!

One more tip- during this time of year there are special low rates at the golf course AND the spa from Monday to Thursday. Once Friday hits, the prices skyrocket. Book appointments and tee times during the week for a great deal.

We chose to fly in to Orlando International for a direct flight from home, which left us an hour and a half drive to Palm Coast. Last visit we flew into Daytona, which was only a half hour drive. We actually preferred the quicker flight and longer drive with our young kids.

We will absolutely be back and we can't wait! Don't hesitate to book your stay at Hammock Beach Resort!

Room Tip: Select an Ocean Tower room in the middle of a high floor for the best views around!

I visited this resort for an industry conference. Rooms are incredible! Beautiful suite with a kitchenette and separate living room. Great Ocean view too!
The beach was very private and easily accessible.

Took the family (wife and girls 8,10) to Hammock Beach for Fall Break. Arrived Wed. evening and departed Sunday morning. Family was a little road weary (7 hour drive from SC) - but once we arrived they forgot all about the ride. Pools, lazy river, slide, and pool side bar were a big hit. Food by the pool was outstanding. Accommodations were top notch - we had a beautiful 3 BR with an ocean view - spectacular.

Marineland is a 10 minute ride north on A1A - swam with dolphins - a big hit with the kids. Even rode a horse on the beach in front of the resort. Kids said it was the best vacation ever. Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: We booked a 3 BR because it was all that was left - it was terrific. I've stayed in the 1 BR...

This was the third time I had the opportunity of staying at the Hammock with my family for a convention. Each time the property surpassed the last for being a top destination for us. The service was excellent, the rooms top notch, the amenities the best around for the entire family and the convention facilities were the very best you could ask for. One of our evenings was on the grounds outside the Hammock and it was absolutely fabulous, the weather perfect and the food and service beyond comparison.

With the exception of the concierge desk, the staff was amazing. Well trained, thoughtful, and committed to making sure that you had a great experience. The pools were really good for our daughter. If the sea was too rough, we just parked at the pool. They have 4 pools. 1 that is sandy like the beach, one for adults, another that is great for kids and one that is indoors. We have a 4 year old and the pools have the gradual entry so it starts 2 inches deep and then gets up to 4 ft deep. It is so easy for young kids to play, without needing constant attention. That made it much more relaxing. There is chid care which is great, and there are good restaurants around the resort. I would definitely recommend this for anyone.
