Cypress Knoll Golf Course

Owner description: Designed by master architect Gary Player, this track is considered a formidable challenge due to its high slope rating and undersized greens that are hidden from the tee box throughout the course.

The Cypress Knoll Golf Course is in the best shape it's ever been. Unlike most of the other local courses in Northern Florida who are all struggling with lower tee times in a tough economy this course clearly has not succumbed to the likes of cutting their maintenance budget as so many others have and it shows. The course Superintendant who recently took over the Pine Lakes Course (also under The Grand Club brand) has also made great strides in improving that course as well. Both are a must-play if you are in the area at rates are very competitive!

Wasn't sure what to expect after reading some bad reviews. But the golf course was very nice. Spottless greens and fairways. Nice mix of holes.
Good value...

The course is a tough course in that the first two holes are very tight. the condition of the course has slipped since the previous time I played. It would appear that lack of play has caused mgmt. to reduce upkeep of course

Played The Grand Club Cypress Course this weekend. It was deserted except for us on a sunny Saturday afternoon at 2. Cart was in poor shape and the GPS for all carts has been disconnected. All fairways have 150 markers, some have 100 and 200 markers but not all. No distance markers in between, so, good luck, take your range finder. The greens were OK, some fairways OK but rough around the edges and most still soaked and it has not rained in over a week. Some tee boxes uneven and lacking grass. It is not looking for the new ownership of the Grand to make it. I notice all mention of Matanzas has been removed from the Grand website so it's not looking good for a reopening of Matanzas. The price I actually paid to play the Cypress was not as advertised on line. They upped the price quite a bit at the desk. When I asked why, I was told something about who knows, site needs updated. Well, they pulled the same scam 2 months ago. As I said, The Grand's future is not looking good. Poor marketing, no attempt to be competitive with the courses in Ormond, Palm Harbor and Grand Reserve. They insist on selling memberships and inflating the walk up rate. Good luck with that in 2012-13 in Palm Coast. Cypress will be closed by 2014 at this rate.

Cypress is tighter, more challenging, and sometimes needs more upkeep than its partner Pine. The first hole will challenge you right off the bat - a par five with water down the left, woods on the right, and a narrow fairway that you must stay in to score at all. I just throw two old balls into the lake off the first tee, write down seven and walk to the second tee. It's that bad for me. But the course is an enjoyable mix of hole, and the scenery can be very tropical. Dont walk this course, the distance from green to tee can be VERY long VERY often. A challenging course, interesting, and if in good shape, very enjojyable. Check with the pro shop on course condition
