Owner description: Designed by master architect Gary Player, this track is considered a formidable challenge due to its high slope rating and undersized greens that are hidden from the tee box throughout the course.

“Better hit them straight”

This course is incredibly punishing for hitting a little right or left. We are 17 handicappers and lost 10 balls...mildly off course and you are in the muck.

“A nice cart ride with a view.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2011

Like the other reviewer, I called to ask about playing the day after Thanksgiving and they said they were closing early. Really? This is high time for golf, the weather is beautiful, and most courses are in pretty good shape right now. The course itself is very pretty, and the greens aren't terrible albeit, quite slow. The tee boxes are like hitting out of the rough and fairways nonexistent. It was less than 30 bucks, so its hard to complain about the value I'd much rather spend a few extra bucks and play a decent golf course.

“Play the Pines - avoid Cypress”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2011

I knew we were in trouble when the pro shop said that the course closed at 1pm...on a Sunday. There were about 32 golfers booked for the day...

I quickly realized why the course may have been empty. Despite an advertised renovation, the tee boxes were beat up, the course layout unclear (#2 is a good example), and the greens were dry, worn, and sloped. I am an 18 hdcp, and 3-putted 6 of the first 9 holes. The back 9 was set up better, but I couldn't wait to get out of there.
If you are planning of playing The Grand Club courses, skip Cypress and play the Pines course...please...
