We had a reservation for 7 nights, so one would think that the housekeeping staff would be willing to take a little extra care to keep us happy.
On day 3, we removed the "Do Not Disturb" hang tag at about 10:30 AM when we left for the day. Imagine our shock upon returning at approx. 4:00 PM to find our room wasn't cleaned and further to be told housekeeping was gone for the day and their protocol is when the "Do Not Disturb" hang tag is on the door on their first check, the staff doesn't knock at the door to see if there was merely an oversight on the part of the guest nor to check back later in the day. Really? Give me a break. How many people on vacation want to set an alarm to ensure being ready to have their room cleaned?
On day 5 our room wasn't cleaned, (beds made, cursory dusting and change of towels) until after 4:00 PM. The staff member was in and out of the room within 5 minutes. I am not looking for the level of service received in higher priced hotels, but I do expect to be treated more reasonably. The management needs to change their housekkeping staff protocols to include revisiting rooms unavailable on their first stop, especially knowing the guest is staying for several days.
