Having adult guest of all ages, all have enjoyed a sunny late morning or early afternoon visit to Washington Oaks. Trails through old oak trees with moss, manicured garden areas, trails along the intracoastal waterway... and a souvenir shop. Plus, a short stretch of the old (original) 1A hwy from the 1940's on which to walk back in time. There is a separate beach area too (you'll need to drive or bike out to it).

Go visit and see the gorgeous rose garden. Enjoy the trails and the breezes off the Ocean and views of the Intracoastal Waterway. Get place to have a date.

We went there not knowing what to expect. We had to pay $5 to enter. When we got out of the car we walked along the path toward the water. It was very serene and peaceful and would be a great little place to bring a picnic lunch or dinner and watch the boats and metros go by. We happened to go on a Saturday when they had a plant sale. The greenhouse was filled with lots of unit dual plants and the prices seemed very fair. The gardens were also very nice. Just a nice place to relax and read a book or take a quiet stroll. Would definitely return.
