Go visit and see the gorgeous rose garden. Enjoy the trails and the breezes off the Ocean and views of the Intracoastal Waterway. Get place to have a date.

We went there not knowing what to expect. We had to pay $5 to enter. When we got out of the car we walked along the path toward the water. It was very serene and peaceful and would be a great little place to bring a picnic lunch or dinner and watch the boats and metros go by. We happened to go on a Saturday when they had a plant sale. The greenhouse was filled with lots of unit dual plants and the prices seemed very fair. The gardens were also very nice. Just a nice place to relax and read a book or take a quiet stroll. Would definitely return.

Great time walking through the gardens, but we forgot the bug spray! The pathways, flowers, fountains and bridge were great photo opportunities. We also went through The Young's home at Washington Oaks and learned about the history there. Next we ventured across the road to the beachside. We had great fun walking around, on and through the Coquina Rocks on this unusual stretch of beach on the east coast of northern Florida.

Washington Oaks State Park has both a gardens area and a beach area. The gardens located on the west side of A1A are beautiful when the flowers are in bloom. Just across A1A on the west side is the beach.
