“Land Cruise”
Reviewed August 26, 2014

The Marriott Beach resort at Ocean Point (Singer Island) is a large resort. 5 Buildings with a combination of 1, and 2 bedroom units. The property is well maintained and the units are updated. We stayed in a one bedroom unit, which had a kitchen and a bath. The units are fully furnished with all kitchen items including filters, complimentary coffee, paper towels, dish/laundry soap detergent, bath soap, conditioner and shampoo. The Living room, dining room, kitchen area are spacious, and the living room area has a pull out couch which sleeps two. Plenty of storage with washer and dryer in the unit. The resort, has a few pools on site, an outside bar/restaurant and a mini mart. There are a lot of activities, run by staff, for younger children, teens as well as adults. They always have something going on. They also have a minature golf area, as well, as a volley ball pit, BBQ area, and have other games you can borrow. They gym is nice with plenty of equipment. The Wifi is free but service is okay depending on where you are on the resort.

The negatives for us: we felt like we are on a cruise ship. It’s a big property with a lot of people, and a lot going on. So if you want a laid back quiet place, this isn’t it. The beds are extremely hard but with good pillows. The beach is a stone’s throw from the resort, but in order to obtain a chair and umbrella is a 40 dollar fee for 2 chairs and an umbrella not managed by the resort (bargain with the attendant). Times that by 5 or 6 days, and perhaps for 4 people and not two and it’s a lot of money to shell out for sitting on the beach. There isn’t a lot in the area, so if you want to get to a supermarket or Restaurant, better have a car. We drove at least 15-20 minutes each night to go to dinner and usually it was a chain restuarant.

In summary: The resort is nice, but due to the rental situation on the beach and the large amount of people on site (we really don’t like crowds) we would not go back. If you are willing to forget the cons which bother us, and might not bother you, I would definitely give it a try.

We are Marriott Vacation Club Owners and used destination points to stay here. We received the building and high floor we requested. We had a corner studio room which looked out over the intercostal waterway and a "partial ocean view" which meant if we leaned really far out and looked to the right, we could see the ocean from the balcony. We were greeted immediately by Shaaray at the check in desk who was super friendly and helpful. She made us feel very welcome and wished us a happy anniversary. Our studio room included a king bed, pull out sofa, large bathroom and mini kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator and sink, toaster and coffee maker. Remember this is a vacation club so unless you pay for it like a room you can only get intermittent tidy service unless you want to pay for it. This is a vacation club time share, not a full service hotel. No room service, etc. The pompano building has it's own pool which is beautiful, and adult only until 11 am which is very nice. We have a 10 year old but he didn't come with us , so we appreciate the whole family friendly atmosphere of the place, there were plenty of activities for the kiddos! They did an adult water aerobics every morning in that pool, great class and Bailey was a super fantastic instructor and overall activities girl for other things- she was the bright shining star and was obviously adored by young and old alike. Good job Bailey! The beach is right outside of the gate - nice clean safe beach. Publix had beach chairs for $9.99 so but them there and save the money renting on the beach. The buildings are not far from each other at all, so unless you have physical restrictions on walking, it's nothing to go from building to building, regardless of what the reviews might say. The kingfisher (I think) building is sort of off by itself but still not far and they have a nice quiet zero entry pool with a bar, also right on the beach via a locked gateThe Publix food market is right across the bridge and a great place to stock up on groceries. Rent bikes and ride around singer island, it's quaint, quiet and beautiful. We enjoyed eating at sailfish marina outside and listening to live music, and drove into west palm downtown on Thursday night for the Clematis festival, with lots of good food, vendor booths and music. Overall it was a nice relaxing place and I would recommend it to anyone. Staff was all professional and helpful.

Efficient check in, lovely condos and very clean. Resort grounds were well kept and there are tons of things to do. There are however children everywhere! No adult pool and all of the pools were CLOUDY in the afternoons. NO way I would get in any of them after that many kids have been in them. They do offer a few morning hours as adults only, but who wants to get up at 8am on vacation??

Bar menu and drinks were good quality and service was very good! There are tons of nice things to do in the Palm Beach area as well.

Room Tip: Rooms are staggered and all appear to have some sort of view of water. Some on lower floors may not...

this was our best family vacation to date. So much to do around the area... or never leave the resort and have a great time. Stayed in the dolphin building and loved it. Tons of things to do for adults and children. Must go back one day.

This was my first time at the Marriott Ocean Point, and I was not disappointed. Our accommodations for a family of 4 adults and 3 children was a villa located in the Pampano building, 4th floor. The room was great! We had a view of the pool and a partial view of the beach area. If we had any questions, the desk was quick to respond and address our concerns. The property was clean and we had no issues. Yes, the prices can be high if you are buying from the bar/restaurants but to offset that, Publix's is just down the street from the property. The beach, I thought, was great, the water was clear and for the most part calm, the children did not want to leave the beach. There were plenty of games and activities for the children to participate in, my kids loved the water polo games. The representative upon arrival, I believe her name was Karla, not sure, was polite, informative and helpful. I would recommend this property for families with children and I look forward to going again.

Dissapointed !! As a marriott owner I expected more from a marriott vacation club. Definitely below standards due little to no quality control. A shame for such a nice property!

Vomit on delivered pack n play another two that did not stand legs broken. Beds without sheets or blankets. No lights in bathroom bulb burnt out. Shower not usable because glass door could not be opened.
Complaint made to front desk requesting manager call us back no response from him or her.
Shame I was considering buying an additional week totally out of question now. I will not be back here.

Marriott’s Ocean Pointe is a fantastic 12-month Marriott Vacation Club, and we are careful to emphasize “Marriott Vacation Club.” Marriott offers three Ocean front properties on Singer Island in northeast Palm Beach. The “greater Palm Beach area” offers nearly 50 Marriott properties varying from Courtyard to Ritz-Carlton to Marriott Resorts to three Marriott Vacation Clubs.

We are greeted by a young enthusiastic Marriott Associate, Shaaray. Shaaray is filled with sunshine on an evening with light rain.

We know that Shaaray has already greeted 60+ Marriott owners; however, Shaaray’s “mile wide smile” and temperament are greatly welcomed. Shaaray makes us feel like we are her most important guests at Marriott’s Ocean Pointe.

Shaaray will soon have a degree in hospitality, and her education shows. We predict that Shaaray shall have a great future.

Marriott’s Ocean Pointe is an extremely desirable Atlantic Ocean Front Marriott Vacation Club. If you are ready for an upscale holiday oceanfront, this is THE Place! Marriott’s Ocean Pointe is a perfect holiday retreat for families and for couples. We always take delight in seeing multi-generations using several condo units to holiday. Our advice is to reserve a two bedroom or at least a one-bedroom property. Please do not “settle” for a studio unit.

We observe that many guests of Marriott’s Ocean Pointe are either Marriott “timeshare” owners or owners of other branded timeshares. Other guests may have “booked” Marriott’s Ocean Pointe Vacation Club, and may not quite be certain of the difference between Marriott’s Ocean Pointe Vacation Club or Marriott’s Oceana Palms Vacation Club, and Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa. All three properties are Atlantic Ocean front, and all three use common terminology: “Condo Style Suite, 2 Bedroom Condominium, Bedroom 1: 1 King, Bedroom 2: 2 Double, Bathrooms: 2.”

Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa is similar to a Marriott Vacation club, and offers “resort hotel” amenities such as daily maid service, numerous on-property dining areas, and general “hotel” features.

We understand that an automobile is essential, and we fly into West Palm Beach, select a car rental, and holiday. We cherish the nearby Publix supermarket for morning breakfast preparation, take breakfast and coffee on our private decks, and either dine out at the many Palm Beach area restaurants or prepare lunches and dinners at our condos. All condos are equipped with washers and dryers. I might be happy to enjoy the Atlantic Ocean all week and never leave the property; however, my wife is a list maker, and she determines if we are going shopping on Worth Avenue, visiting upscale consignment shops, visiting Clematis Street and CityPlace, Antiquing, doing the Gardens Mall, visiting the zoo, museums, orchid parks, and selecting the restaurants.

As owners, we are on holiday using an Interval International Trade, and using a Breckenridge (non-Marriott Resort.)

We are greatly pleased with our fifth floor Atlantic Ocean view villa. We can view the Atlantic Ocean and beach for “miles and miles.”

We purchased Marriott’s sight unseen, at pre-construction prices thirteen years ago, and now we own seven Marriott Atlantic Ocean villas. Over the past ten years we have been selling our non-Marriott brands and buying Marriott.

We encourage Marriott to build in the Florida Keys.

Room Tip: Marriott owners will always receive the best Villas.
