We arrived at this restaurant just after it opened at 5pm on Saturday. We did not have reservations as we were going to a play before and did not know the time it would end. Upon our arrival we were asked if we had reservations to which we said no. The hostess then took us to a table, upstairs and sat us at what she said was the only table not reserved. The table was actually fine though it was right off the stair landing. We noticed there were at least 10 tables that were not being used that were not near the stairs. We were told they were reserved. At the time our check arrived, close to 7p.m., we noticed there were still four tables empty. While the food and our service were excellent, the hostess treated us very poorly and was rather rude. Perhaps while en route we should have called for reservations and would most likely have received proper treatment. Our dinner started off on a very poor tone, thankfully, the food and our server was excellent. I would have given this a 5 star rating had we been treated better upon arrival, first impressions are lasting impressions.
