“great home away from home”
Reviewed April 23, 2014 via mobile

Our 2nd stay here for a week while visiting family nearby. The front desk staff with amber, courtney, and rich are so friendly and helpful. We were in room 102 which was very large with a micro and fridge. Happy hour at 5 to 7 weekdays. Great maid service. Somewhat pricey due to time of year and a seniors tennis convention here which booked most rooms nitely. Their at&t wifi was weak in our room but good in the lobby. Great bkfst. Cookies at 5 to 7 daily. Very close to 3 malls. Tv channels kinda lousy with not a big variety. All in all, we luv this place and will be back here next trip down.

A great place to stay for either business or leisure travel. Appears to be newly renovated. Bed was so comfortable - slept well each night. Garden with fountain in back is so lovely and serene. Breakfast served is excellent! Would highly recommend you stay here on your next trip to Palm Beach Gardens.

Our week long stay at Hampton Inn Palm Beach Gardens resulted in a mixture of positive and negatives. Since we were new to the area it was confusing and difficult to find things because commercial facilities are located behind tall shrubs/trees (desk clerks could be more helpful/specific if they kept this in mind); but once we knew where stores/restaurants were located, we greatly appreciated the lovely uncluttered, wide streets. We stayed during Spring Training was apparently high season, so I realize the cost was most likely at its highest. However, given the negatives mentioned below, the $200 per night b/f tax we paid in March made the "value" of this hotel poor.
POSITIVES: ~~ requested and received high floor away from elevator and ice machine;
~~ back garden, lobby, pool extremely nice; ~~ breakfast good for a Hampton (excellent oatmeal) and attendant very efficient; ~~ clean; ~~ 4th floor nice view (facing back, you will overlook the garden area; facing front, you can see your car and city);
NEGATIVES: ~~ the young woman at desk the evening we checked in was efficient but far too abrupt. Due to allergies, I made sure we were in a non-smoking room. Later when going to dinner I asked if Palm Beach Gardens restaurants were non-smoking. I was startled when she rudely asked, "What's up with you and this smoking thing?" [ The young man who was at the front desk some evenings was quite nice, however.] ; ~~ towels extremely rough; ~~ it was odd that the bathroom was remodeled with a new sink but the bathtub was old, worn, and discolored; ~~ the HDTV/internet did not work when rainy/overcast ( the desk clerk said it happens 2 or three times a week). ~~ room was certainly acceptable but not superior for the cost

Dear Guest,

Thank you so much for your review of our property. We are glad that even though you experienced a few negative situations that there were some positives as well.

We have recently upgraded our breakfast and appreciate hearing such great feedback on it. Our breakfast attendant, Diane, has been at the hotel since it's opening and is always very efficient, as you kindly stated. Our garden/pool area is a great little place to get away and we are glad that you enjoyed it!

As for the front desk, we will review your comments with the staff so that they can continue to provide the customer service that we are known for! We are so sorry to hear that the bathtub was not on par with the rest of the bathroom and have passed along your concern to our maintenace team.

Please keep in mind that our high season pricing is now behind us and for the rest of the year, you can experience great rates at our property! Please contact us whenever you return to South Florida and we will be certain that you enjoy your stay! Thank you!

On all Hampton ads you will see the Hampton motto, " IF YOU'RE NOT SATISFIED, WE DON'T EXPECT YOU TO PAY. THAT'S 100% HAMPTON." We went to the hotel for some business and some pleasure. never had been to this Hampton but we received a pleasant greeting and checkin was smooth. First reg flag was our pool experience. We were not sure which door to go out to find the pool so we asked the front desk. The front desk clerks were laughing and talking to each other and we excused ourselves to ask directions to the pool. We received a quick point and back to talking. The pool is not exactly close and when we were getting seated I started looking around for towels which you would think would be housed at the pool. NO......the towels had to be requested from the front desk. Since we just came from the front desk and interupted their personal conversation it did not surprise us they never offered us any towels....so off we went back inside to get towels.
The next day was smooth but when we returned to our nroom later in the day it was very evident our carpet was never swept. I had some sand and outside dirt in one of my shoes and I had attempted the night before to clean it up without having a vaccum at my disposal. The exact same dirt was still on the rug and was visable. The entire room looked like the bed had been made quickly, new towels placed on the rack and out the door they went......certainly did not look crisp.
When we checked out at about 8:00 am and not even two hours later we were calling the front desk that we had left behind a very important legal document in a large white envelope. The girl said she would check right away and call us. She called about an hour later and said the room had already been cleaned and all the linens had been removed. No one had seen the envelope or turned it in. We suspected the envelope was on the bed we did not sleep in so we knew once they opened these linens they should see the envelope right away...This was a legal size envelope and heavy as the document was many pages. The girl stated she would alert the people who handle the linens to look for it and get back to us. After leaving numerous phone calls we never got one return call from anyone at Hampton. We take full responsibility for over looking packing the document but I was appalled at how non interested anyone at this Hampton got involved in our situation. When you are told this is a very important legal document you would think there would have been an immediate search done. We understood that morning at the front desk is a very busy time but when we never heard from them with any solid information my expectations of the Hampton chain really fell apart. We travel quite quite often and Hampton is a place we seek out. I have left pieces of clothing, a belt, my jewlery roll and always had great cooperation in getting my items back.
After the fourth un-returned phone call we just got the document redone for a cost of $150.00. As I stated totally our error over looking taking the document with us but Hampton customer service was a zero in this case. This particular Hampton I believe would be very business customer, over night stays...leaving a tablet, laptop some kind of chargers for phones or computers is probally the norm.....if this is how they handle inquiries they need to have a class on the company 100% satisfied guarantee. A simple return phone call, we looked all over, we checked the linens and nothing showed up would have been exceptable......no return call on numerous calls from us is not.
I hope the manager, front desk clerks and the house keeping staff see this and re think how they handle missing things in the future. Customer service extends well after the stay and follow through is key. This Hampton failed at all of it.

Check in and out was quick. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was filled with a great variety of delicious choices and coffee or tea plentiful. The hotel was conveniently located near restaurants and gas stations and the I-95 exit 79A.It easy to find at night because it was well lit.

Roach found in Kleenex as I reached for tissue to blow my nose. Non-smoking room on smoking floor. Smelled bad. Employees not real helpful and gave attitude. Different prices when booking same room over the phone vs. online.

Dear Guest,

We are sorry to hear about the circumstances with your stay and would like to rectify the issue immediately. If you haven't already, please give us a call so we can discuss this in more detail.

In the meantime, please know that we are in the process of decreasing the number of smoking rooms that we are required to have. Should you choose to stay again with us, we can offer you a room on a non-smoking floor.

In addition, our rates do fluctuate based on availabilty. There are special rates offered online for booking in advance that are not available to book through the hotel.

Again, I'd like to personally apologize for any issues that you may have encountered and look forward to hearing from you if you have not contacted us already.

Thank you!
