“Perfect!”
Reviewed August 31, 2009

We live in Miami Beach and felt the need to do a weekend getaway, without having to go too far. Have always wanted to try out The Breakers so this past weekend was it.

I'm not even going to try listing all the great things about this hotel. It is one of the few hotels in the USA (and perhaps the world) where everything is just perfect.

Yes, it's a bit pricey, but if you can't afford luxury, then stay somewhere else.

But for the rest of you... you won't go wrong staying at The Breakers!

Room: 5 out of 5
Facilities: 5 out of 5
Food: 4 out of 5 (would have given this a 5, but some of the lunch and drink prices are totally outrageous and uncalled for!)
Service: 10 out of 5 (yes, it was THAT good - most especially Bernard and Christina, the hosts of the Club lounge).
Value: 5 out of 5 on the special Summer package that runs through Sept. 30.

Stayed for 5 nights in early August on the Flagler Club floor in an Island view room (which is approx 100 sq ft larger than the ocean view room across the hall). The room was gorgeous, newly renovated, 2 TV's, double sinks in the bathroom, and large walk-in shower (and the closet was bigger than what I have at home!).

The overall infrastructure and facilities were faultless. 5 or so pools, great beach, wonderful spa - and here again, the service was EXCEPTIONAL! I'm talking Four Seasons level at the beach and oh so friendly and respectful everywhere else. Kudos to the Breakers for this.

The food was really delicious. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the summer prix fix specials for lunch and dinner ($20.09 and $35-38 respecitively) are an excellent value with great food. The lunch especially was wonderful and the Seafood Bar. Tapestry lobby specials were also an excellent value at half-price drinks/bar meny from 5-7pm each day. And when you couple those with the food and beverages in the Flagler Club (served by the finest concierge hosts this country has to offer!), you've got a winning combination.

And finally, did I mention the service? Absolutely outstanding. From the greeters at the entrance to the beach club/pool area, to the towel guys, to the beach staff, to the pool/beach waiters, to the spa attendants, to the front desk clerks, to the wait staff in the Seafood and Tapestry Bars, and TO BERNARD AND CHRISTINA in the Concierge/Flagler Club lounge - you deserve our most sincere thanks for an unforgettable 5 nights. BRAVO to you.... and we will most certainly be back!

My husband and I just returned from the Breakers and I highly recommend this resort. This was our first visit and we were attracted to the location because of the $225 per night special which included golf, spa facilities, and continental breakfast.
We golfed three days and were fortunate to secure a 7:30 tee time each day. We also took the sunset bike tour which was complimentary and very enjoyable.
The grounds were well maintained. The pools delightful and the ocean amazing. Service was outstanding! The hotel itself has so much character and is beautifully layed out. The food was a bit pricey but we walked to Publix and picked up some snacks and refreshments and found a delightful restaurant "Testas" where we had a 3 course meal for just $14. I had eggplant as appetizer, fabulous pork chops, with baked potato and finished up with fresh strawberries and home made whipped cream . Delicious and very reasonable! At the Breakers, we dined at the Top of the Point which was beautiful with a scenic view of the Ocean and Breakers Hotel. Lobster Pot Pie was amazing . My husband totally enjoyed his fresh bass. We also dined at the Ocean Grill and the Seafood Restaurant. All wonderful but meals averaged $75 -- $100 for us both. Lunch was a pricey $70 at the Ocean Grill.
I do not usually return to resorts because I like to see as much of the world as I can but this is one resort I look forward to returning to. We had a wonderful time!!!! You won't be disappointed.

C'mon, ya gotta love it. A cross between The Shining and the Tower of Terror (before the lightning strike), it's a beautiful 1920s monument to the Italian Renaissance, right on a gorgeous stretch of Atlantic beach. We stayed here Mon/Tues July 27-28, 2009 on a trip to explore the Florida coast. Our visit was made possible by the $225 /night summer special, which included the valet parking and a supernice continental breakfast (you can upgrade to full breakfast for an additional $10).They also didn't add on the noxious "resort fee" which seems to afflict Florida hotels.

This weekday summer price was comparable to the Ritz Carlton, Brazilian Court, Four Seasons, and Resort at Singer Island, only I think the Breakers is more special. We had a freshly renovated room with a view of the Atlantic, flat tv, a great king bed, a little fridge, and a cool bathroom with a tv in the mirror, what a hoot. It was a small room but we didn't spend much time there, so much to do! Like swimming in the awesome pools and the ocean.

I should mention that the summer special includes unlimited greens fees for the Breakers two 18 hole courses; however carts (it's brutally hot in summer) are $35 per person, and club rentals $35. So a round of golf for two would be $140. Ideally you bring your own clubs (airline would have charged $100 RT for this privilege) and carry them. Then it is free golf.

Another fun thing is a catamaran that takes you on a snorkeling trip, for $75 pp. Just before we were to go out the captain said ocean too choppy, not safe, but this is a must-do next time. You swim to the catamaran right from the Breakers' beach. Or, for $20 you can rent a snorkle kit and snorkle right off the hotel's breakwater.

Also, if it were not so very hot we would rent bikes and ride around Palm Beach, which looks empty in July. Walking north on the mostly deserted beach it appeared only 1 of 15 condo units was occupied, with hurricane shutters on the rest. Do bring a GPS.

I'll address the dining issue, as yes, there may be sticker shock at the menu prices. I would avoid drinks, which really are too much. 'nuf said. The Breakers is offering prix fixe at some of their restaurants like the Seafood Bar and the Steakhouse, but you are not confined to eating on premises. It is a short walk to Royal Poinciana Way where there are restaurants such as Testa's and Palm Beach Grill, though the prices didn't look that much less. Another idea would be to keep walking west, over the bridge to the nice Cityplace area which is exactly two miles from the Breakers. We had a great meal of fresh seafood there at Brewzzi's our first night. There is also a Cheesecake Factory which looked popular. The second night we enjoyed the half-price drinks ($6.50) and appetizers (crab cakes) at the Breakers' Tapestry Bar from 5-7.

We took the free hotel history tour with the Breakers' historian and recommend that highly. Since we had less than two days here we can't comment on all the Breakers' aspects, except to say we experienced consistently excellent service and a wonderful facility overall. My husband and I hope to return for a longer visit.

We have been staying at the breakers for 3 years in a row (this year however we were unable to go :( What a beautiful resort. My kids loved the kids activity center. The babysitting was wonderful. This gave us a great opportunity to check out the restaurants of Palm Beach alone. The Sunday Brunch is Fabulous! We will definately be back.

Wow-this place is amazing! We were in Jupiter Beach for a baseball tournament and stayed one night at the Breakers to check it out. Wish we could have stayed the entire week. Fabulous pools, beach, restaurants, workout area and golf! We have two boys-16&12-their kids' area was the best I've seen, and we've stayed at Four Seasons & RitzCarlton. Full arcade, theater seating for movies and basketball court. Rooms extremely nice and awesome bathrooms! Absolutely beautiful and impeccable service!
