The Chesterfield reminded me of small hotels we have visited over the years in France and Italy. It is acuarately described as a boutique hotel, as it is small, cozy and in a residential neighborhood. The main difference between the Chesterfield and European hotels is that the rooms and bathrooms are not the size of prison cells. The Flagler Suite, the room we occupied, was enormous and we were esconced in luxury. The bed was especially comfortable. The Leopard Lounge has lost some of the leopard look I recall when I visited the hotel 20 years ago, but in some ways that is a good thing. It is now much more elegant and classy. It also sounded like a very good time, all theway until 1:00 am.
The hotel is only a few blocks (easy walking distance) from several excellent restaurants, and some of the best shopping/window shopping and people watching in the world. The hotel, itself, has a tremendous restaurant. To top it off the price was reasonable, even in the winter.
I think we will make the Chesterfield a regular spot on our circuit. We loved it.More
