“Quiet, romantic hotel”
Reviewed September 1, 2008

My wife and I stayed here for a few days for a getaway weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The Brazilian Court was a great place for us to spend some quiet time. The hotel has a peaceful, calm atmosphere. It is luxurious without being overly opulent. The atmosphere is quite romantic, with a beautiful tropical courtyard surrounded by private rooms tucked away around it. The amenities at the hotel, such as the Frederic Fekkai salon and the Cafe Bouloud restaurant, were excellent. Service from the staff was fairly good, though we had minimal requirements, as we preferred to be left alone in privacy. The hotel itself is only a short walk from Worth Ave. and the beach, and blends into a surrounding residential neighborhood, making it a nice environment to go for a walk around the area. Overall, the Brazilian Court was exactly what we were looking for in a quiet but luxurious romantic getaway.

We stayed here for a couple of nights in July for my husbands birthday. I had phoned the hotel a couple of weeks prior to arrival to confirm our arrival time and to order champagne and strawberries on arrival for my husbands birthday, as a surprise. The staff at reception were very helpful and assured me everything was in place. We arrived an hour late and to my surprise there was no champagne waiting. I popped down to reception to remind them of my request and they assured me everything was on its way, but no apology. Half an hour later I called room service to order dinner and ask about my champagne and strawberries, apparently the chef was busy preparing everything, still no apology. By this point I was getting a bit annoyed to say the least as it was spoiling my surprise. Dinner arrived another half hour later with champagne but no strawberries, they finally turned up another half hour later. The service was slow and disappointing and I was really hacked off. At no point did anyone apologise for their delay or for the fact they had spoiled my surprise.
However, the hotel was beautiful and the room was lovely, with a large sun terrace.
Pool was small and the staff were just a bit slow off the mark. The restaurant was very nice and the food excellent, the staff in the restaurant were very attentive.
We enjoyed our stay but would go back to the Breakers next time as it was better value for money and slicker service.

We stayed at The Brazilian Court over Valentine's Day weekend. The location of this hotel couldn't be better with its proximity to all the stores and restaurants on Worth Avenue.

The room was not worthy of a 5 star property. It was on the small side and had no comfortable furniture to lounge around on. The bathroom had a large shower and tub and two sinks. We didn't have a full supply of toiletries provided and ran out of toilet paper, with no spare roll in sight.

Dogs are allowed at this property,so there was some barking.

The restaurant's food was delicious but the service was exceedingly slow for Valentine's day dinner. Our reservation was at 8:30 and we didn't receive our dinner until 9:30p.

The lounge has great entertainment but only on Thursdays and Fridays.

The staff is friendly, remembering our names each time they saw us.

We have stayed at the Breakers, Chesterfield Inn, The Colony, and the Four Seasons. We probably would stay at either the Breakers or 4 Seasons next time.

This is a lovely hotel with friendly staff and charming (if not large) rooms. One downside was the room service, which arrived incomplete and by the time the missing items were obtained, the food was cold (or eaten!). The other downside was Cafe Boloud, which I will not visit again. But the bellman, valets and front desk people were very helpful and kind. The pool is nothing fancy but pretty and relaxing.

We spent a long weekend here in January, & although the property in itself is beautiful, the prices are way too high for what you get. The rooms are great, and great attention has been paid to every little detail. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the architectural detailing is perfect, & the bathrooms are luxurious. However, we felt it was way too expensive compared to other properties.

Although the hotel is supposedly non-smoking, rooms on both sides of us smoked a lot, as did people at the pool, and smoke seeped into our room. Also, the walls are very thin, and we spent all night one night listening to the tv next door. We called the front desk three times during the night & nothing happened.

They've spared no expense in restorations, but other amenities were terrible. The beach chairs were old & rusted, the bicycles were cheap & in terrible condition (and they charged you the price of a rental car for them). Service was very slow for what you'd expect - even when we clicked on the "please service room" button at 9:30 am, when we returned at noon our room still hadn't been made up. They also don't offer any beach bags to take to the beach.

The restaurant is superb, and there's a fun bar scene on Friday & Saturday, but make sure you ask for a quiet room or you'll be hearing the music & people in the courtyard all night. Overall, unless you get a special rate, I'd opt for another property worth the hefty price.

This is the place to stay in Palm Beach!!! What an awesome property! We went down there for a nice relaxing weekend and just loved this place. It is great for couples. The rooms are smaller - but this hotel goes back to the 1920's so that is completely understandable! the rooms are decorated so beautifully the size is not a problem. The bathroom is top of the line marble, etc. There is a wine fridge in your room! We had a nice quiet room - room 222 - towards the rear courtyard which was well located and very nice and quiet. I can only imagine that the rooms closer to Cafe Boulud must be noisy at that place is "the place" for dining and dancing and the overflow into that courtyard must be bothersome to the rooms overthere.... Cafe Boulud is a MUST for dinner - make reservations as soon as you book your room to stay here. The pool is nice, and we loved the location of being walking distance to Worth Ave, the beach, etc. You can't go wrong staying here - plus it was a younger hip crowd vs. the older gang at the breakers. Can't wait to go back!!!

  • Liked — the quality of the hotel is top notch for the discerning traveler
  • Disliked — nohing!
