“Old Fashioned Drug Store Lunch Room”

Green's Luncheonette
Ranked #30 of 81 Restaurants in Palm Beach
Price range: $0 - $12
Description: Established in 1938, Green's isn't just another pharmacy. Since then, Green's has been serving tasty dishes and filling prescriptions while patrons sip down their milkshakes from the 82-seat classic soda fountain. Open 365 days a year in rain or shine, the store maintains its nostalgic ambiance, a nod to simpler times. There simply isn't another pharmacy quite like Green's.

We heard that a number of famous people in the past, including president Kennedy, ate there, so we went wondering what the attraction was. I still don't know. The lunch room is an area inside Green's Pharmacy. The management doesn't keep a list. You just wait until a table becomes available and then go to it. The food was acceptable. The ambience was '60's. The prices reasonable. The service was reasonably quick. If you want to step back in time it's a good place to go, but other than that nothing remarkable. We saw some highly modified (via plastic surgery) older ladies while we were there, but that is probably just Palm Beach.

A true drugstore breakfast and lunch counter ala 1950. Said to be frequented by a young Jack Kennedy in his youth when the family were in residence in PB. Great waffles and homemade muffins. You might see waitresses reminding you of Flo at Mel's Diner

We had a great afternoon chatting it up with the staff -- enjoying a late afternoon coffee and talking in French and Spanish to the two hardworking guys that were running the breakfast/lunch counter that day. Hoping to go back to get one of their famous Orange Muffins next time -- one of Palm Beach's culinary treats that keeps people coming back! Shout out to the way cool Jewish/Jamaican guy and thank you for displaying a Chanukah Menorah!

We ate here while visiting our daughter who works at Mildred Hoit. What a wonderful place. Great family feeling, great food. Can't wait to come back and get another taste of the classic food and classic feel. Places like this are few and far between.

We stopped here after visiting the Bethesda Church and gardens around the corner. There's nothing really special about this place but the food is good and wait staff is very friendly. The fries are extra crunchy. I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a quick bite but don't go out of your way for it.
