Renato's is consistently good. Service is professional yet cordial. Atmosphere is romantic, with enough room between the tables so you are never crowded. One of the things I like the best is that everyone is treated with the same degree of courtesy and deference whether you eat there twice a year or twice a week. When you arrive, you will be shown all tables available and asked if you have a preference. The food is always wonderful, tonight I went very simple: Caesar salad and penne a la vodka. The pasta was properly al dente. My husband had the smoked salmon and the lobster risotto and thoroughly enjoyed both. We were too full for dessert but the bread pudding sure sounded good. The check was $136 for two cocktails, two appetizers and two entrees without gratuity. Renato's offers valet parking, a blessing during the season in PB.

While out for a romantic evening we asked to be seated in the wine cellar where it would be quiet.
For the first 35mins a man at another table conducted business on his cell phone...(.while his poor wife sat in silence ). After this went on during our drinks and appetizers we asked to see the maitre d . Another 10 mins went by and he finally arrived at our table. We told him about the man and he shrugged his shoulders and asked if he could bring us anything. By then our dinner was ruined. He walked over to the man and said something and nodded his head toward us. Shortly after they left as the man glared at us.
Food was outstanding and our waiter could not have been better but the way it was handled was poor. It says on the menu to silence your cell phone. Why put that there if you do not mean it.

We ate outside, which is charming, but the food was overlooked and tasteless. My foie gras was on a mass of thick grave-like substance, and was overlooked. My main course had no flavor whatsoever. My husband's Dover sole was dry and did not taste like Dover sole at all. We would not go back. Too bad, because we wanted to really like it.

Food, candle-lit glow, European service - Renato's has been one of the 3 best restaurants in Palm Beach for many years. Located in the romantic Viz Mizner, I like to make it a "special occasion" place. It's not cheap, (unless you've been dining in fine restaurants in Paris and London), but they never disappoint.

The food at renato's is always very good & having dinner in the courtyard is really magical. Service is usally first rate. I would rate them excellent if it wasn't for the way they handled "an issue" on a previous visit.
