“Don't miss it!”

You can't experience the true elegance of Palm Beach without a visit to the Flagler mansion, similar to the breathtaking Guilded Age mansions, called "cottages" of Newport, RI. If you've not been to Newport, this is an additional Do Not Miss! Breathtaking restoration of the original architecture and interiors and a fabulous replica of a large glass and wrought-iron gazebo Pavillion with fantastic views of the water and yachts - a perfect place for lunch or high tea, after your mansion tour. We're grateful for the Flagler family and donors saving this exquisite mansion from the wrecker's ball after it was abandoned.

“Worth the cost/trip”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

Henry Flagler was a founder of Standard Oil and as rich as Rockefeller when he discovered Florida. He built railroads, hotels, and the bridge to Key West and made more money. His house in Palm Beach was his winter residence and is stunning. From the marble floors to the artwork on the ceilings the house is filled with luxury. The 1% of a century ago lived in luxury and spared no expense, and the result is a treat for your eyes. The audio guided tour allows you to have both an overview of a room, and optionally some in depth information. There is a docent tour, but I tend to like to move at my own pace, so I used the audio tour. I went in February and had no wait or crowds. Your mileage may var.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

I'm not a big fan of visiting museums - I prefer the outdoors. BUT I thoroughly enjoyed my self guided tour of the Flagler.
Interesting artefacts combine with beautiful and stunning rooms.
Very like visiting an English stately home.

“Visit this!”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

The Flagler museum is a beautiful property. The mansion gives a wonderful history of the development of eastern Florida, as well of Henry Flagler and his family. We did the self-guided audio tour but there were always helpful and friendly staff around. This is a worthwhile, educational and easy stop.

“Beautiful historic and informative”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

My husband and I loved this self guided tour. There are a lot of rooms open to public view. Very informative regarding the family, the beginning of Florida and historic times. It takes a couple of hours to listen and look at everything. We highly reccommend this attraction.
