Want to see what the Uber rich lived like back in the early 1900's then this place is worth the trip. Closest thing I have seen to this is San Simeon in Cali.

“Excellent, beautiful example of a Golden Age mansion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2012

This is well worth a visit. It is almost on a par with Hearst Castle and definitely on a par with many other great Golden Age mansions I have visited. There is ample parking and they offer an excellent hand-held audio tour as well as live, guided tours.

The grounds are beautiful, as are all of the rooms, which are richly decorated in period pieces, furniture and decorations. Flagler was a founding partner of Standard Oil and was responsible for much of the development of Florida. For history buffs, there is ample discussion of this on the audio tour and in displays. There is also a small museum area, which when I was there, had a great exhibition of the history of the America's Cup.

You can tour it in about an hour, and it is well worth a visit.

“Beautiful old masion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

This mansion offers you a real insight into how the rich and famous lived.
The Mansion was restored several years ago and has very good docents who take you around.
The glass enclosed pavillion houses the train that the couple used and restaurant services.
its pricey to get visit but well worth it

“Nice”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

It is a very nice building and it offers many concerts and other events, the chamber music series is nice and the venue can't be more pleasant, but the entrance to the museum is expensive, better to see it wehn you are attending an event

“Impressive”

Got a guided tour with a docent, what an amazing building really a must see. We had also toured the mansions in Rhode Island and found the Flager to be more impresssive.
