To start...very interesting place. Clean rooms, comfortable beds, very nice outdoor area, heated pool, better than excepted dinner food and stellar free breakfast all for under a $100. Recommended use: 1-2 night getaway to relax and not have to think about where to go for any of your needs

This is a very well refurbished older hotel with very clean rooms, a great, beach like pool area with Tiki bar. The beds are comfortable, the complimentary breakfast is above average, and the staff is cordial.

Bentley hotel

This is a great hotel! We will be back. Its style is a bit different but it works and the pool area is fabulous. I like really warm pools so it could have been a bit warmer for my taste. It is not far to go to Nokomis public beach or up to Siesta Key. Breakfast is good. They have paid attention to detail in the rooms and in the general area. Nice bath rooms, speakers for the iphone, good coffee maker safe, big shower, nice towels, climate control that worked perfectly (both heating and AC) and good beds. Breakfast is served in the Café and it is good, very friendly service that made us feel welcome.

The pool area was great to spend time at, if windy it is still warm since it is in the center of the complex. A really cold but sunny day it was possible to be in bikini there while trips to other places required a thick coat.

The tikki bar is nice and gave us a feeling of being on vaccation somwhere in the tropics. We had lunch by the pool which was tasty and reasonable priced. A mixed crowd are staying at the hotel and it seems to be some locals visiting the bar and I thought that was added value.

To keep up the good standars have the pool a bit warmer and continue to take care of all the nicely renovated rooms and good staff.

Next time I'll travel in the area I will add a couple of days at this hotel just to relax.

Room Tip: The rooms with a balcony is probably worth it if you plan to spend a lot of the time in the poolarea...

Location was a killer to find! GPS took us straight to a hospital in Sarasota.... confirmation email clearly stated Sarasota (which is also the county). Hotel clerk knew where we were when we phoned for directions.... clearly happened before.

Reasonable price for a nicely renovated, but dark room ... but no beach/ocean/water anywhere nearby. Interior hall ways have low, rounded ceilings and each room is aptly named after a London tube stop. Creative way to cover the low ceiling. No elevator to second floor.

Pool area and Tiki Bar looked like fun but it was way to cool for anyone to be using it when we were there in late December.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a pool-view room.

They are clearly making an effort to be more boutique-y than a standard Holiday Inn-type hotel. The decor for the lobby, eating areas, lounge and rooms is nice, but you get the feel that it is a regular motel that has been prettied up with some nice decorations, rather than a 4 star hotel through and through. Having said that, the bed was comfortable, the free breakfast was a nice bonus and the rate was reasonable. It was too rainy to enjoy it, but the pool, with a little "beach" area and an outdoor Tiki Bar that regularly has live music looked nice. The service was good and staff all seemed pleasant. The location was the big negative for us. Not really close to much except a few local restaurants.

Room Tip: They said the fitness center was under renovation, but offered passes to a Y, 15 minutes away. We w...

Location is clearly the weakest point of this hotel - it's kind of in the middle of nowhere. If you have a car, no big problem
Our room was perfect, beautiful huge clean king bed, very nice bathroom, huge fluffy towels, nice toiletry items
'Beach' Pool is nice, Tiki Bar as well
If you need quiet at night I suppose you better choose a room facing away from the pool
Breakfast is a simple affair in a kind of smallish cafe in front, which can get a bit crowded
All in all, great value for money though

The hotel is between Sarasota and Venice and a little far from the beaches. It does have a nice pool and the decor was fun. The lobby was pretty nice and the restaurant was an upgrade from most motels. They didn't change the sheets during our 3 day stay which was unexpected...usually the better hotels do that unless you sign up for some green program. There was a lot of light coming through the blinds so that although the room was quite, it was still hard to get a good night sleep.

Room Tip: The poolside even rooms downstairs on the west side from 132-144 have small beach in front between t...
