You don't have to get dressed up for this great, casual, under the tiki hut, on the water restaurant! If you come by boat or not is your choice but shoes are required. Bring the family dog - if they are well behaved - they rwe greeted with a nice bowl of ice water.
Bring the kids if they want to play in the sand or just come out to have a good meal and watch the sunset or listen to the wide variety of musical entertainment offered every night!!
If they have the ceviche on the menu - it is the best!
Great bar with a friendly bartender.
Very popular with the locals so don't be surprised if you have to take a walk on the dock while waiting for a table.

Talk about location... This place is a few feet from Sarasota Bay, and I do mean few feet. It's outdoor dining but under cover with open sides or outside. Nice breeze, boats coming and going on ICW, some tying up at the restaurant's dock. Casual dining and comfort food. This is not gourmet dining but it's good, solid, reasonably priced, American dining with an emphasis on fish (naturally). We were there on a Sunday for lunch and it was busy but not unreasonably so. I had the fried calamari and a grilled fish sandwich. There's lots of fried food but if you're not a fried food fan, grilling is available for many items. My wife (the healthy one) had a salad (fresh) and grilled Mahi-Mahi. And yes there is a liquor license. All in all, a very nice spot to stop for a meal, a beer and THE VIEW.

This place is sitting on a gold mine! The location is ideal with views of the ICW, ability to boat or kayak for food & drink...all the good things, but the food is mediocre and the beer is small plastic glasses at full pub price. We may go back for the location, but definately not for the food.

A friend booked a week in advance for about 18 people but when we arrived, we were told there was no reservation! We then accepted being seated at individual tables of of 4 but were told in a very offhand way that we had to sit with our shared check person at the same table. OK , we get that and accepted. When the guy who had taken the booking was asked about the mostake he tried to tell us we had booked for a week later (when we would have left FL) ! No apologies. Our waitress was very poor, forgot things and we had to get our own extra glass etc from bar as she never appeared with the requested items. Attitude was poor, sharp - like she was doing us an imposed favor . Food was OK , not great. Our waitress never even asked if we wanted dessert, (another waitress was different altogether-friendly, polite ). We were then asked to leave as there were people waiting with reservations and we were holding them up. Not a good evening and we will not be returning.
