“Nice place and location”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Stayed here over christmas 2012. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was clean with a nice view of the ocean. it's in a great location, on the beach and minutes away from daytona.
only problems i had with the place was the ammount of standing water outside on the grounds where the basketball/mini golf area was that was there for over a day after it rained, in the summer that would evaporate quick but not so much in the winter. also the old building i stayed in didnt have a in room washer/dryer as i was told it did, the new remodeled rooms in next door do. the indoor pool and hot tub are the same temp, HOT. i think i got sick because of the temp in the pool.

Our family of 5 (3 children, 6 and under) stayed here for Spring Break, the first week of April. We booked it as a regular reservation -- no time share, no marketing discount package etc. All of the unhappiness we witnessed in the lobby on check-in day seemed to be primarily related to those types of schemes, so obviously, that's a watch-out, as can easily be gleaned from other reviews. This is a small, compact resort. I almost called it "no frills", but in reality, this mighty little property offers quite a bang for the buck. We had a 2 bedroom/2 bath condo in the "south" building. Not over-the-top fancy, but absolutely fine for our family. We ate almost all meals in, and found everything we needed in the full kitchen to do so easily. Our daughter took advantage of just about every craft event that was offered, and the compact nature of the resort made it possible for her to do so with limited supervision. The pool is directly at the beach -- most days, we were back and forth between the two multiple times, leaving all of our beach gear on the beach all day long without a worry. Poolside, there is a small (and I mean teeny weeny) tiki bar with ice cold domestic beers for $2 -- where else will you find that at a beachfront resort?! The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that I thought that they could have and should have cleaned the pool more often, but it was never so gross that we kept the kids out of it, and even with fresh water showers readily available, I'm sure there's only so much they can do to keep the sand out of the pool, given that they are practically on top of each other. On the value equation -- what we got for what we paid -- this is 5 stars for certain.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor, which meant our patio opened up onto a big green lawn. Our kids played...

This hotel is in a wonderful location, the traffic is very light in this area which is nice. We stayed in a 1 bedroom unit in the south tower, it was nice, comfortable, roomy. It had all kitchen things u would need to make meals. We had a an ocean view not an ocean front which was a bit disappointing because you could see the main road & ocean but we were on the 7th floor so we got to see a lot of ocean. My issues with this place is the pool is way to small for both buildings, it was cloudy the whole time we were there! It needed a good cleaning! The other issue is that there is not enough pool loungers, if u did not get down to the pool by 10 you didn't get a chair! The staff is not the friendliest either, they act like you are bothering them if you complain about anything. I would not say this is a premiere resort after staying in Marriotts & Hilton's but it was average, mainly because of the location & the room were nice!

We bought a marketing package from Spinnaker that stated in writing we would be in a "2 bedroom condo on the beach". When we arrived at the Royal Floridian Shelby at the desk informed us that the resort was overbooked and they had found a room for us at the Sleep Inn by the interstate about 5 miles away from the beach. We were able to use the ammenities at the resort but we were at a hotel by the interstate. From the moment we arrived, they lied to us. Shelby told us she would continue to check and see if a room came available. They continued this lie for two days until the manager of sales, Jill, finally informed us that there was NO WAY we would be staying at the beach and there never was anyway since all the owners had it booked for the week. This was after several people at the resort lied to us and said they were trying to find us a room. Very disappointed with the way this timeshare company treated us, or rather mistreated us. I would NEVER buy at Spinnaker after this experience. Be warned if you are thinking about accepting a marketing package.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for Spring break. We had a two bedroom lockout unit. First, the view from the master bedroom and living room balcony is amazing- we slept every night to the sounds of the Atlantic ocean. The location of this resort is by far the biggest attraction!

Unfortunately, Florida was experiencing a cold temperature streak this week, but we still had a great time. The hot tub and pool are a bit on the small side, but had the weather been warmer, we would've been on the beach anyway. In my opinion, Ormond Beach is a gem of a travel spot as it sits just North of the busier Daytona Beach area. Yes, we did sit through a timeshare sales pitch, but we were curious about their offering. I'd recommend this place to families and couples. We love Ormond Beach and we'll be back soon....

Room Tip: Drive through Tomoka park to see the beautiful homes along A1A. Walk on the boardwalk..get a massag...

I was shceduled to stay in this Time Share property through a package they offered me. However let me tell you they not only did not have a 1 bedroom villa when I arrived with family and food to cook in the Kitchen they had offered me in the package. Well they told me kthey had no room for me at there resort and wanted to out me at a sub par hotel in Daytona Beach. Wee I refused and drove home...They have promissed to refund my money but they sure did ruin our Spring Break...

We stayed there for Spring Break and we were pleasantly surprised. I had never been to Ormand Beach before but it close to the interstate and still has a small town feel. This resort is right on the beach and from our condo windows we could see nothing but water, that's how close you are. The north building is older, but has been completely remodeled and all rooms are beachfront. The south building is new but not all units are facing the beach. My granddaughter met several children her own age and stayed in the pool all 5 days! I don't like seeing cats and redneck trucks on the beach, but that's what they do here. The resort had several activities planned and if that isn't enough, you are pretty close to Daytona, St Augustine, and even Orlando. We had an Interval International getaway- a great deal!
