We were a party of 7 and arrived without a reservation, yet we were seated within minutes. We started are meal with 3 appetizers, ahi, calamari and crab cakes, the ahi and crab cakes were on par with what one would expect, the calamari stole the show. It was chopped in small pieces instead of rings and was served with deepfried jalapenos and a stoneground mustard and jalapeno dipping sauce, absolutely the best we have ever had. When the bread arrived we asked for more of the mustard jalapeno sauce and dipped the pretzel bread in it, amazing. Our salads and chowder arrived, the stonewood salad was excellent, the chowder while good was not as good as Alfie's and the house salad were as expected. Finally the entrees. My blackend swordfish with mediteranean topping was unbelievably good. My wife and daughter both devoured the crab encrusted mahi and the bite i had was perfectly prepared. My mother in law refused to share her short ribs they were so good. The other daughter had grilled mahi and cleaned her plate for the first time all week. Son had shrimp and scallops and devoured them. My father in law had the line caught black grouper and said it was the best meal of his life. Our waiter Shaun was attentive and we put him to work consistenly refilling drinks. The above meal and two cocktails ran us just over $300.00, so with tip of $60.00 it was a lite pricey but we loved it so we won't complain.
