“The ONLY nice hotel in Daytona”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

Most of my family moved to Ormond Beach starting in the 1970's. As an adult, returning to the area to visit family, it was impossible to find a hotel that met the standards I was used to as a business traveller Every hotel was run down, low quality or just worn out. Even the Hilton seemed to be a fortress built to deal with party crowds rather than experienced travelers .

I returned to Ormond Beach for Thanksgiving this year. I used Trip Advisor to see if anything new had opened up. I found The Lotus and rad the reviews and boy, were they spot on. This place is head and shoulders above anything I have seen in Daytona area.

The property is similar to what you would expect to find in an LA boutqie hotel. It is chic, new and hip. The rooms are outstanding with contemporary styling which includes high end fixtures. We had the suite with kitchenette on the second floor. I believe it was room 202. Everything from the floors to the drapes were a reminder that Daytona doesn't have to be hotel hell. The pool and spa were clean and very enjoyable. The whole pool area offered guest a way to relax in small secluded cabanas. Only one family at the time insistant with playing the annoying game of Marco Polo. Thankfully it was brief.

Staying at The Lotus has made me re-think returning to the area just to enjoy the beach. I loved the 4 mile walk north on the beach. It brought back a lot of memories of the open beaches of the 70's when i was a kid just listening to the ocean and seagulls.

Thank you Lotus for the experience! I'll be back.

Retro hotel, Art Deco style. Very plain rooms, all white walls, black and white everything else. Our room faced the parking lot, so was very dark as we had curtain closed most of the time. Beds are comfortable, nice bathrooms, shower only. Breakfast offering was very minimal also.

It was a very nice surprise. There was complementary morning and evening snacks. Front desk person was really nice and helpful with local activities. The decor was very modern and welcoming. The rooms, pool area and porches were very clean, this hotel was one of the cleanest places that I have ever stayed. The beds were very confutable. We really enjoyed it's location, it was north of the busy strip of Daytona. We also liked it because it's a very small hotel and newly remodeled. We had such a wonderful stay that we are planning on meeting family and friends here once a year for now on. It was nice having a fridge and microwave in the room. We were able to bring food and drink and just chilled out for the first couple of days.

Room Tip: I liked the first floor facing the ocean, easy pool, fire pit, and beach access. We liked having th...

I stayed at this hotel last week in connection with some business travel and was really glad I did. I booked my room though a booking service and got a great rate. When I arrived, the front desk manager was welcoming and informative.

My room on the second floor was clean and larger than I expected. The bathroom was spacious and decorated tastefully and had plenty of towels. The decor is modern and comfortable. The bed was well decorated with good linens and the mattress was more than adequate. I was able to sleep well.

I walked to the end of the hallway and took on the lovely view of ocean. They have done a great job of providing a really luxurious feel to the pool area and have two cabana-type seating areas on one side along with some conversation nooks that provide comfortable seating facing the ocean.

They have a complimentary coffee, yogurt and muffin bar each morning for that special touch making you fell really at home.

I am hoping to return soon. If you are considering visiting Ormond Beach or the Daytona Beach area, this is a place you will love coming back to again and again.

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel! The decor is so new & modern, the rooms are wonderfuly clean, and service is exceptional. We had 3 nights booked, and loved it so much, we wanted to stay a 4th. They accomodated us and Neil gave us a great rate, which was actually better than the first 3 nights that we had booked on a 3rd party site. Can't wait to go back again!

We came upon the Lotus via the internet and what a nice surprise. Totally new, retro, clean, bright and right on the ocean. The staff is friendly, the service is impeccable, the rooms are beautifully decorated. The ambiance sitting on the ocean is indescribable. A special touch would be the muffins, yogurt and fruit in the morning. You just have to try their wonderful espresso, cappuccino, latte, hot chocolate machine in the lobby!!!!! Looking forward to returning again!

Room Tip: Chose 2nd or 3rd floor, ocean side. The sunset is unbelievable!

This is a gem of a place: oceanfront balcony room...the harvest moon and a glorious sunrise--- all packed in a one night stay. The courtesy morning coffee and muffins made it that much more inviting.

We loved the stylish decor, the spacious shower and the ultra artsy sink basin. In room coffee pot and coffee added to convenience. What we really liked was the quiet...except for the rolling surf.

Soft strains of meditative music created a special peace to accent the lovely landscaping.

Very clean. Just loved it. Hope to visit again.....and again!
